from their IP information https://myip.ms/info/whois/145.239.9.15/k/1298384802/website/zippyshare.com, the website was renewed in 2018, possible they did it for 5 years, while its time to renew again, they avoid it and decided to shutdown the website. but I am curious to know will zippyshare will go public for auction

They could have really turned zippyshare into a monster file hosting company. Wasted opportunity in my opinion

Zippyshare and Mediafire are used to be my favorite service before, easy to share and easy to download!
but they are still old school, no update. It can sell storage and build on cloud so please can read the file to make it more new age service!

Mediafire already attempted to adapt and already made changes to survive through the ages plus it is still alive and kicking.

I have noticed good changes on mediafire as well, but think about it, you need network too for this, see how old school file hosting like rapidgator, nothing much changes but they are everywhere, even files all the way from 10 years ago still available if you download it from rapidgator, same like a few others premium file hosting sites

Premium packages with more quote per file (it's limited to 500MB), Automatic Backup Software... there are few ways to monetize this kind of services.
