Makes sense. With the recent development in ad blockers as well as browsers themselves, it is getting really hard to do intrusive ads. Without revenue, it is pretty hard to run a site like that for long. They were good while they lasted though.

Yeah I know, you are pretty much right about the competition, except the fact they do have 45m monthly visitors to their domain. Even if 0.1% of them buy premium... that's 45,000 x $sum. even 0.01% is 4500 x $sum could be something (taking into account their operating costs)

What other ways will you monetize the massive traffic ?
True the competition is fierce but when you have 43 Million monthly users you should be able to convert them into a free trial that hopefully leads to a monthly subscription.
Most likely coerced to shutdown by govt agencies or something of that sort. Adblockers existed since forever and do we see any ad services shutting down?
