This is my review of YTMonster. Been using the app for more than a week now.
Before I dive in to the cons, here are some pros I found on the platform.
Don't get me wrong, I liked YTMonster and I find it a very simple and easy to use.
Pros
1. It's quite cheap, FREE membership isn't that bad
2. Simple and clean UI, easy to use
3. You can set your campaigns to not allow "proxy" views (idk tho how it works, or if it works well)
4. You can geo-target where your views will come from
5. You can set how much watch time a user would watch your video
6. Exchanging views is quite flexible - browser, windows app, mac app
Cons
1. Views exchange session can be done through browser or a client app. Once you start a session, a window of youtube video pops up. Now here's the major bug in their Mac app: the video DOES NOT play automatically (unlike when you do via a browser session). Yet in the client itself, it assumes you have watched the video and counts it as a valid "exchange" and "credit". View Screenshot
2. Views session in a Mac Chrome browser crashes after ~10 videos. View Screenshot
3. Even the videos auto play in a browser session, once you pause the video, succeeding ones won't autoplay if you minimize the pop up. Yet the system will still continue to count it as a valid "exchange" and "credit". Of course, this is not too much of a problem especially for people who put this app on the background.
4. But obviously the system has poor protection against cheating therefore less effective campaigns. Which is true based on my tests. I initially tried to send 100 views to a video with <30 views. The system shows it already sent 89 views. Yet based on my Youtube stats, it's still far from that. If you set your watch time to less than 250 seconds, you can refund the credits you spent (maybe calculated based on the undelivered views, idk) but more than 250, there is no option.
5. Poor customer support. I reported points one and two above. They replied after >36 hours, only to tell me to try Firefox which can hopefully resolve the 'crash issues'. The guy who replied to me didn't specifically commented on the Mac client bug, but instead said, "we have verification system in place". I asked how exactly does it work... because clearly I have earned >7,000 credits without watching a single video. 5 days has passed and no one has responded to me.
6. After a campaign is delivered, there some sort of 24 hours window where the system verifies the delivery. I didn't find it helpful or works at all... because the views remained less than what the system claims it delivered even after waiting 48+ hours for Youtube to 'accept' it as a valid view.
I'm so disappointed. Was really excited ab out this tool. What do you think of YTMonster? Did you guys had good experience from it?
