YT security while making money (Interesting case)

hello,

I would like to address this question to those who have done these things, not to those who theoretically "knows"

Situation:
Let's assume there is a channel which was created 4 year ago.
And manager uploaded 60+ videos about specific content uploaded at once. Let's say its TV show documentary (different sources from different known TV channels) and content is from late 90's. So nothing happened, no copyright claims. No views, no channel growth. Somehow this person managed to make a contract with one MCN (even channel not having views) at that time.

4 year of silence. Channel earned maybe 1-5 buck/year. Lets say its zero.
Manager even forgot about this channel. Lives his normal life having normal job, family etc..

4 years have passed.

Suddenly just few month ago smthing happened and channel skyrocked. Its growing and growing.
+400 subs/day, 60+k views/day, engangement from audience (most USA), very good watch time.
And shit gets scary. Channel ears more than regular job/month 5-9k usd/month

QUESTION (lets assume, as this is theoretical situation ;))
1. As a contract was signed with MCN they know all personal info/detail. (how bad this is?)
2. What real consequences can have manager of this channel (banning of YT, or account termination, or taking down videos is nothing - easy come go). Main question what legal problem (for ex. court) can be processed to manager of this channel and what are chances for that.
3. For the past 4 year there wast copyright issues, as these TV series are quite old (also i see lots of channels having them also), but u never know when owner can come youtube.
4. Also manager might think to disconnect from MCN and connet to Adsense (its risky, because YT will take a look at your channel again for YPP and might not approve)
5. also another option - manager might thing to kill this channel as this is getting to real and to risky (or not?)

6. Maybe some of you have other advices

You can sell the channel and have peace
 
I doubt that you'll find many people who have had something like that happen, so most of the answers will end up being theoretical.

If that happened to me, I'd personally leave it and try to milk as much cash as possible. If copyright claims eventually come, the most likely outcome would be just a termination of your channel. I doubt that they would chase you down and fine you. It could be years before anyone finds out and by the time you will have already earned a few hundred thousands.

And if you want to be 100% safe, selling the channel is another option
 
I agree with above most likely just get a yt ban.

I know for a fact you get told to take down a channel if do so all forgotten.

I never no of a case where you're not asked first .

many people as you seen use content don't give a shit.

only time MCN can get involved and disclose info if you're asked to take the channel down you don't and it goes to court .

but yt for a fact will just ban account if it reported.

enjoy the cash, the only real problem pay tax on the cash if that ignored it prison or a very huge fine.
 
The money what been earnt is all done yours all paid from advertisers , if not used just sit there till sent to owner of account via cheek

that has happened to me .

I got a nice big cheek once forgot about the adsence cash from a blog was shocked phoned google was told the cash been spent from advertisers the money all your's via law had to be sent via cheek because not collected .

What is a price for this channel? Esmimated.
As you can imagine in one year it can ear 100+k USD (at this moment pace, but it/s still growing)
now it earns 450 usd/day

Yes i understand your point. as i see lots of people are buing channels for ±1000 usd. This channel makes 1000usd in two days
 
do we have here people that ears 10+k /month usd?
If yes how you are withdrawing money.
You use adsense with your personal details and doing transfer to your personal bank acc and then paying TAX in your country for income?
What options do people use.

If you earn 1000 usd/month i think ammount is to little and its more safe, or am i wrong?

That is a lot in earnings. I don't think you will get a buyer really fast, as the channel will cost a lot, taking the earnings into consideration. In your shoes I would just take the money till the traffic stops coming.
