YT doesn't push my vertical stream to shorts feed :(

Hi guys, I have a small youtube channel with about 30 subs and I'm trying to grow this channel by doing gaming/reaction vertical streams. I set everything up in OBS, but no matter what I do no one is even giving the stream a chance. It looks like youtube isn't showing my streams in the shorts feed.

I already stream on tiktok and have a small community, so the content is not a problem. But I should mention that I have a single copyright strike on youtube which is going to expire in 5 days.

What I'm doing:
  • Set OBS to vertical output
  • I don't schedule the stream
  • I use a stream key
  • The streams are set to visibility public
  • I can watch the streams from my second account by going to my channel / a tiktok sub also found my stream randomly when I streamed on YT

This just feels as if I'm shadowbanned on YT, but my shorts get 1k views.
Gemini told me that streaming from mobile is more likely to get pushed to shorts feed, but I need 20 subs to reach the 50 sub requirement.
Does anyone have more info and can help?

Try on another new channel and compare response.

Hey, I’ve noticed YouTube Shorts can be tricky for vertical streams. Streaming from mobile usually gets more views than OBS on desktop small channels with few subs may not get pushed right away keep streaming regularly make engaging content and try different titles and times to improve reach.
 
Guys do you think i should buy some subs to get the 50 subs requirement? Or are there other ways to get 20 subs fast?

It sounds like you’re on the right path. The copyright strike could still affect your reach, even if it's expiring soon. Stream scheduling helps YouTube promote your content, so try that. Mobile streams often get more push to Shorts, but OBS is fine if you optimize your titles, tags, and interact with viewers. Keep streaming consistently and engaging with your audience YouTube will start to recognize you.

Your copyright strike is likely limiting your stream’s reach. YouTube favors mobile vertical streams with enough subs and consistent schedules. Try streaming from your phone, schedule streams regularly, and focus on growing subscribers before expecting Shorts push. Cross-promote on TikTok to boost views.

YouTube favors mobile streams for Shorts. The copyright strike may limit your reach too.Focus on growing subs with Shorts first. Once you hit 20+, stream from mobile to boost visibility. Cross-promote on TikTok to get viewers.Stay consistent and patient YouTube rewards steady growth.
 
Youtube is such a trashy platform, even worse than Tiktok, which is trigger happy with their restrictions. At least tiktok pushes your stream to people.

I streamed on my second channel: views.
I steamed right now roblox for 2 hours with my 1 channel (strike expired): 0 views

Why the f do some roblox kids on their smarthone with no facecam nor mic get 50 viewers, while my stream isn't even shown. I'm even using their trashy vertical format
 
I am a regular user of watching gaming content on youtube .. that includes shorts and long form youtube videos.

I haven't seen a single youtube gaming shorts live recommended to me in the middle of me scrolling or even in the home page of youtube.

Tbh I do see gaming short lives in the feed, but they are very rare. Most of the streams I see are from people talking to the cam on their mobile.

But I don't know if yt is either pushing the mobile streams more or if most yt short streamers just aren't using their pc
 
It could be a mix of factors. First, YouTube might prioritize streams from channels that meet the 50 subscriber requirement. Update:
I got myself over 70 subs (not bought), but youtube doesn't let me stream on mobile. They are still saying that I need 50 subs.
Might this be a sign that I'm shadowbanned from streaming?
 
Update for everyone who has the same problem

1. It takes days for youtube to unlock mobile streaming
2. You can stream via obs to shorts, but you can't schedule the stream nor use the default stream key. You always need to create a new event

hey I was wondering if you had any update? were you ever able to get views again on the first channel live streams?
