Youtube has been a proper pleb of late. I uploaded a video with a view to white hat it and the auto sweeper (whats it called, the auto thingio, you know?). Picked up on a piece of music I had mixed with the video.

It was music that I had permission to use, it was Mozart and it was recorded by a friend, but youtube's tetchy sweeper said it was owned by someone else.

What's funny is that the video was uploaded twice and each different video pointed to different artists on Itunes. Idiotic.

Now it appears my account has been 'flagged' and now it takes ages to monetise videos.

Are there any pointers fellow BHW's can offer me with regards to the auto sweeper system at all?

Has anyone else had experience with problems like this?

One of the video's I had made recently also got denied Monetisation and it had no copyrighted material in it. However, it got denied for Monetisation, the only thing I can summise that stopped it was that there was a short cartoon of mickey mouse in it. Aside of that, I had a track in it which was used with permission.

I didn't know that Youtube had also implemented a visual sweeper. So I took out the cartoon and now I am uploading, here's hoping it passes.

I do wonder though, if it was just youtube denying monetisation, just because it can and forcing me to provide evidence to the contrary.

Any thoughts?

It was a piano piece, recorded by an artist mate.

And you have permission by the artist to upload this shit to youtube? if so, just counter claim the flag received for the video and state that the song is under public domain and have permission by the artist to upload to youtube and commercialize it.

I think when you do Audio swap , you can no longer monetize that video. I may be wrong but I read it somewhere ...

But surely the fact that the video has been uploaded twice and identified as being from two different artists, makes a mockery of the system. I have permission to commerically use the track and I have said so.

"These content owners have reviewed your video and confirmed their claims to some or all of its content:
Entity: IODA Content Type: Sound Recording
These content owners have reviewed your video and agreed with your dispute:
Entity: Music Publishing Rights Collecting Society Content Type: Musical Composition"

I wouldn't even mind, I've tried to find the actual track in their library, but it simply is not there.

I've been reading around and apparently this IODA, are said to be a bogus company logding copyright claims left, right and centre. Waiting for you to disprove, whereas they don't have to prove they own the copyright.

Kind of seems like Ebay and Nigera all over again.

I think I'm going to take down the video in question, find another track for it and repuload it, just to spite the copyright claimer.

mate use vagex so much easier so much simplier..or if u want a REAL bot that works and private to you just hit up me!!

What does this have to be with the op's thread?

Like you said before I would reupload it with music that is 100% copyright free, there are actually some channels on youtube that upload copyright free music that youtube will not mess up. Pretty good stuff since you can listen to the song first, and see for yourself that its not flagged by the system.

That's good advice mate, i'll take it.

Does anyone know if the Monetise system is slow/down at the moment?

(probably is in fact due to my account being 'flagged').

Mine has only taken a few hours to be accepted after upload, make sure you supply enough information and dictate your rights to the content in your video, it might just take longer depending on the content in your video, mine are commentaries so its fairly easy to get quick monetization to them :)
