Alright so I know there are a lot of people on BHW who use youtube to market. What a lot of you may or may not know is that youtube looks at how many sites are linking to your video as a factor when ranking videos in the search results. It does depend on views, ratings, comments and the upload date but also on linked sites. I've seen videos with a few thousand views outranking those with views in the hundreds of thousands with tons of comments due to the fact that their video is embedded in 5 or so sites.

That being said, I thought it would be a good idea for people to upload their video url (embed code) here and embed other's videos in their blogs/sites at the same time. It takes about a minute to make a blog so it shouldn't be too difficult to do. If a lot of people get in on this each person's video will easily have 5 sites linking to it which will help everyone get more traffic to their videos.

I'll start, here's one of my video's embed codes:

Just put your videos embed code inside quote tags like I did. I think that will be the easiest way for others to upload your videos. If someone links to your vid make sure you return the favor.

I have an autoblog setup for just random shit I come across, it doesn't have any backlinks/PR/etc but I'll gladly help by embedding anyone's videos!

Thanks Rotting Corpse, that should be fine, I'm not sure how much PR/backlinks factor into the ranking of your video if at all.

C'mon people upload em if you got em.

It's a lot better to embed your videos on high PR sites. Google will show your videos more frequently on search results if you have sites linking in. So yeah I agree with bananahands, but I would much rather embed my videos on jumptags.com and the like. If you put your videos on a blog that's new and is not indexed in Google it wont help outside of You Tube.

Thanks gogetta for clarifying that. I'll have to try jumptags out. To be honest I haven't really tried getting a video indexed in google but I bet conversions would go up a lot. This is aimed mostly at youtube rankings which is also good in its own right. Of course PR sites/blogs are more than welcome, but not needed.

Threw it up on my autoblog for ya. My blog is fairly new but I have a lot of RSS feeds coming in from a lot of good SEO/IM/Affiliate blogs so it's only a matter of time till google gets around to indexing it. Its also a blogger blog so yea, it's not much but ever bit helps right?

Every submission I do is always optimized for Google. Conversion will always be better when you pull visitors in from G. Most people on youtube now are looking for information and how to do something free, or their already use to seeing the same info in related video clips.

My video is 2 weeks old and at page rank 3. Comes up 1st on G under 3 keywords.

I'm not trying to say what your doing is wrong, I'm just saying if your gonna feed your video backlinks, it's best to do it where Google will take notice.

Nice. What are you doing differently to optimize for google? I'd think researching the competition and finding a few good long tail keywords would be the first step. Is it a PR 3 because youtube is an authority site or due to something else?

Well I established my channel through back links and a good long description. I also change my description once a week to give it fresh content. My channel is at a Pr 4 after 3 months or so. I also embed my videos 10x on pr5 and pr6 websites. So after my channel got page rank my videos are easily coming up in Google.

But like you were saying if you just want to grab Youtube audience 5 or more sites linking in will bring you up in the ranks.

Oh and about the long tail keywords, I haven't noticed that it helps google all that much, but it for sure helps in youtube. You will come up in related searches a lot more.

Good info. Didn't know your channel influenced the rankings that much but it makes sense now. I'll have to get to work on that. What kind of sites do you place your backlinks on? Are you saying 10x on each site for 1 video?

Yeah it's was mostly aimed at youtube rankings but there's no structure here obviously. The higher PR the better but any old blog will do.

are you guys stupid or what? you do realise that posting your tube vids leads to your vids getting flagged. deleted etc from youtube? why cos theres alot of people here that will flag you out of spite and so on. this has been posted before.. but post your own tube links at your own risk. if u want vids deleted then go ahead and post here.

That is the exact reason why I will never post my videos on BHW. :D
