Youtube Shorts get 0 views

First if you are totally new and your account is recently created, YT needs you to make them trust in you

Second if the content is similar to other content (similar script, similar plot) Youtube is going to flag you as reused or mass created content

You are uploading content from 2008. Have you uploaded to YouTube the last ones or some old content? If you uploaded some old content (1 year old is enough) maybe somebody has seen that your IG content was not uploaded to YouTube and brorrow it for his channel

YouTube Shorts often get 0 views if the content is slightly edited from other platforms, as YouTube may detect low originality.
Also, poor first 1–2 seconds or weak retention can stop distribution, and posting time doesn’t matter much for Shorts the algorithm drives discovery.

I am still facing the same issues. uploaded shorts and videos but getting zero views but saw on others channel they created a day ago and have lots of views.
If any expert can help, I can drop my channel link as well.

It all depends on the actual content and the account. YouTube checks a lot what you post, for example if you are just reposting Family Guy Shorts don't expect any traction. What does work, is posting more unique content like custom stories, not stolen from other people.

How much of them have you posted? If just a few, it's okay, just be consistent and don't ignore hashtags.

Since your account is from 2008 and was likely inactive, the Shorts algorithm might need a few weeks of consistent posting to 'warm up.'

maybe you getting shadow ban. try to new account with new phone.

the algo just haven't found your target audience. just continue uploading your stuff

meta data problem. You need to remove metadata first I believe. Should be able to find one on google

Hello,
I upload Youtube shorts on my Youtube account from 2008. It has no restrictions or so. The Reels got 20,000-60,000 views on my INstagram and I just slightly edited them.
On my Youtube they get 0 views.

Anyone know why that could be? I publish them by scheduling them to super active times in US.

Best regards
You are posting from 2008 and no views yet ? Or you started posting on the channel recently ?

Even if your Instagram Reels perform well, YouTube Shorts is a different algorithm. Views depend on watch time, engagement, and how the video fits trending topics. Slight edits aren’t always enough — try optimizing titles, thumbnails, and hashtags for Shorts, and experiment with different posting times and formats to get traction.

How many subscribers are on your channel?

YouTube Shorts often need fresh native signals, so reposted IG content without strong hooks, titles, or early engagement usually gets zero initial push.

People with this issue have noticed after uploading long form content with original voice the issue dissapears.

That usually means YouTube hasn’t found an audience signal yet—weak hook, low retention, can all cause zero distribution.........

This is normal.
YouTube Shorts use a separate algorithm from Instagram Reels. Old channels don’t get priority if they have no recent Shorts watch history.
Common reasons for 0 views:
  • No Shorts audience signal on your channel yet
  • First few Shorts are in a testing phase
  • Re-used content (even lightly edited) may get low initial push
  • Posting time matters less than early retention & rewatches
What helps:
  • Post consistently (1–2 Shorts/day for 7–14 days)
  • Strong hook in the first 1–2 seconds
  • Vertical 9:16, under 30s if possible
  • Avoid obvious IG/TikTok watermarks

youtube flags repeated content very well, if you simply download a video and reupload it you will get suppressed and get 0 views

For me, this happened once and I fixed it by not uploading (not publishing) shorts for a while (I think it was for 3 weeks I did not publish shorts) and I focused on regular videos. After the 3 weeks, I started to again publish shorts and the shorts started getting views. What part of the algorithm played a role, I do not yet know. But this fixed my 0 views on shorts.

It’s only a real problem if all of your videos get zero views. If it’s just some videos, then it’s not a big issue, it may simply be that those videos weren’t recommended.
