Just looked at the audience for my channel started 3 months back. 13k subs and 10M views.
My country is at 2nd position with 13% overall views while USA audience is at 30% for lifetime, Tried changing metrics for different timeframe its almost same results even at the start of the channel.
So I can say its not happening for me atleast not using any VPN or anything while uploads.

Thanks for you reply. In my case, I think it is going in the right direction so far. My country was first in the list in the first 2 days with 20%, followed by USA 16%. But now, my home country dropped to the 7th place, followed by Germany, Australia, Canada, India, UK and USA (at first place). Without using VPN of course, I read that it better to not use or we risk to get shadowbanned. Am only 5K views, 10 subs but I hope it keeps going in that same direction

It is next to impossible to rank in another country because even the language and tone is different. User experience of initial viewers will be bad.
Could you please clarify: For the channel's information settings, should I leave the 'Country of residence' section as my home country? Or should I leave it blank? Or should I set it to the United States ??

This is something I need to know before I start my YouTube journey.
I left it as it was. I used the same channel I was using to watch youtube on my phone and laptop, and changed the name of the channel. I am not using any VPN or proxy. Just before posting any short, state the language to english and the algorithm will automatically show you content to english speaking countries over the time. My audience as of now is as follow: USA 21%, India 9%, UK, 7,6%, Canada 4%, Philipine 3%...

From my research, some vloggers suggest that after uploading a video, it's advisable to temporarily set it to private. After a few hours, once YouTube has processed the visuals, then switch it to public. In your opinion, is this approach correct for ensuring that the initial viewers get to watch the video in the highest resolution?
I am sorry but this is the first time I am hearing of this. I don't see the logic behind it since youtube is already processing the visuals while you are uploading the video. But I can't tell if its working or not since I have never tried it before

It is very hard to go viral in a country other than your own. Only few creators are able to repeat this with their videos. There are some reasons and overlapping in category niche. Like entertainment videos might get viral in USA even if the creator is not from USA. The person is watching video for fun not for learning which requires understanding the language.

It happens sometimes, but it also depends on the language you use for your keywords.
Do you mind if ask how many videos do you post per day? I am currently at 300 subscribers over 41 videos, 140k views, but its been over a month. I am noticing that the growth is really slow

Although videos do get pushed to the country of the content creator or whichever country the content was was made, most videos shorts or not, get pushed to audience based on the language majorly, if it is english, it will be promoted to mainly english speaking countries, if it is ukranian, obv to ukraine and other countries that speak that language.
We have had a lot of channels made in India, in the hindi language and then switched up the videos to english language content and it gets instantly pushed to American and other english speaking country users.
Also don't forget, if you want only a specific language audience without waiting for the algo to push it right, you can always go to smm panels and get language targeted views on youtube.
