Does this mean AbBlock won? I also don't this people will embrace spending money on something they didn't like in the first place. http://www.techinsider.io/youtube-red-gets-rid-of-ads-2015-10

So what would you suggest, people uploading videos for the fun of it. taking hours to record, edit and upload and making $0 because people don't want to watch ads?

I don't understand why Youtube don't just block adblocker it's not hard I've used a sport streaming site that block adblockers.

They could easily block adblocker, but they have other things on their mind: to monetize the s*** out of YouTube. Get money!

I think YouTube should've just forced users to view ads like on TV without skipping, then offer PPL

So in other words, they have simply just given a name to the ad free service that they announced months ago?

I would be curious to know what the total amount of views on YouTube is in comparison to the amount of people on it using adblock. I'd guess and say that it is less than 5% so I don't see adblock being the main factor behind their new plan. Correct me if I'm wrong, but Google hasn't even made even a single penny off of YouTube since the day they bought it and it is still costing them money just to keep it going. With hundreds of millions of people viewing videos daily, I can definitely see what they hope to accomplish with it...However, I do not see it going anywhere fast.

Just seems like another one of those ideas that they are going to try out to see what will come of it... Remember the monthly pay to subscribe plan? Yeah me too, it bombed.

Your guess would be wrong the majority of non ad-block users are people who don't use the site very frequently, the people who spend the most time on YouTube use ad-block.

Why the fuck would anyone with half a brain pay $9.99 a month when you can install adblocker for free?

YouTube has well and truly shot themselves in the foot with this one, more people are going to become aware of ad-blocker which means more people will install it, meaning less money for youtubers.

Low and Mid range Youtubers who have a decent subscriber count on their channel and social media account will get pissed off and look for more profitable platforms.

My guess is Dailymotion - there are networks that you can join that will put ads on Dailmotion videos.

If I was in charge of Vimeo or Dailymotion I would be rubbing my hands together because now is the perfect time to take down YouTube, find advertisers that can guarantee no ad-ware installations and low watch time 5 second ads together with a small advertisement under the video.

    Then install a adblock adblocker.

Two major features in YT Red (ad-free and downloadable contents) can be earned just by installing ad-block and desktop YT downloader. If people are getting more aware with these programs then Google ain't gonna reap anything in the future.

Then how exactly would my guess be wrong? The majority of the total views that YouTube gets are from users that aren't even logged in.

Who would pay $9.99 monthly? Not many I'm sure, but idiots are everywhere and AdBlock is pretty much non existent on mobile, tablet and TV which makes for a large portion of their total views. I don't see what your argument is tbh. I agree, shooting themselves in the foot indeed.
