YouTube name change

I am trying to change my YouTube username (not google plus) for comments. I know you can go into settings ang change your username on your channel but i dont know how to change it for comments. I didnt think this was possible until today but i have seen someone on YouTube doing this and i need to find out how!! Anyone that knows please reply.
