hey guys ,
I have an idea: I want to download Shorts from a specific YouTube channel, lower their original audio, translate the English voice into another language (like Russian or any top-earning Tier 1 country language), and upload them on my own channel.


From which country do YouTube views pay the highest?
If I translate the video into that language and upload it, will there be any problems with YouTube Shorts?
Will those videos get monetized, and can I make money from this method?

I see exactly what you’re thinking this is basically a content repurposing strategy for Shorts. It can technically work, but there are several important legal, monetization, and practical considerations you need to know before investing time.

Do not waste time with this. If you cannot make original content, no point in doing YouTube.
 
Probably not worth it since shorts aren't paying much. Rather focus on high quality reproduction of content while obtaining the agreement of the other party.

Most likely, your videos will be rejected for copyrighted content. Youtube has become very smart and uses AI in checking content, now it has become very difficult to make "gray" content.

It's Australia and the United States that YouTube pays the highest.
 
Tier 1 countries like the us or uk, canada and australia pay the most per view but monetization requires original content or proper rights. Safer approach create your own videos, get permission to translate reuse content.

Reaching audiences in high paying countries can greatly boost revenue, and using your own content or obtaining permission ensures the videos can be monetized safely.
 
The countries with the highest CPMs are usually the US, Canada, the UK, and Germany. But that only matters if the content is original or has clear rights. Downloading short videos from another channel, modifying them, and re-uploading them is generally considered valid reused content.

YouTube will detect this material very quickly and mark it as "reused content," which prevents monetization, even if you change the language or audio. For short videos, the system is MUCH STRINGIER.

If you want to monetize without problems, you need to create your own content or transform it more significantly (script, editing, narration, context). That's my advice; don't just translate it and call it a day.
 
Yes, you can make money from translated Shorts, but only if the videos qualify as “original content.” Many channels got rejected because they simply reuploaded translated clips. Full transformation + commentary + editing style is required to stay safe.
