After seeing some youtubers who are streaming and obviously having fake live viewers, because their chat is moving slow as hell with it saying like 5,000 current people watching and then all of a sudden it drops to like 500 watching, it's got me wondering where they are getting this service and how much it costs?

there several services that have "live youtube views" for sale. ....

ggl is not your best friend but it occasionally helps.

you will find that service on BHW Marketplace, the sources are real human unique IP's (passive traffic only, so they will not interact with the chat box) marketer use the livestream method to do instant ranking

It was more of a thing to make their channel seem more popular than it was.

both, marketers will aim for the target keywords to get 1st place on the search terms they want, also they will get suggested to users that watch videos that are related, also if the live stream peak with 5k users it may get into trending on the live category (but that is not something that is guaranteed)
