Youtube is removing the dislike button! :O

They should actually implement emojis and show them on the thumbnails in user feed and search results.

very sad news.
this is how the democracy dies with thunderous applause

I heard a good suggestion/solution about the problems youtube addressed. If they want to stop the "dislike attacks" then they can maybe make it so that to be able to "like" or "dislike" you must have watched a certain amount of the video.

Surely they could have had a better solution but no they came up with this amazing idea of "let's just make the dislike button useless instead".

Their algo is better at predicting what sort of content performs better
The 'virality' alone should be enough

People might end up spending more time on the platform to find the right info
More room for ad revenue

This is great news for SMM panels selling likes for videos, since now anyone can instantly make their video seem legit as nobody can dislike it, especially since you can just manually delete any negative comments so any threat of 'spamming negative feedback in comments' is useless.

Absolute disaster for any legit YouTube users/creators.

too much censorship. i miss the old youtube days where people can say what they wanted on some call of duty gameplay, without people crying about it on twitter.

Funny explanation given by YouTube:

YouTube said it had also heard from smaller creators and others who were just getting started on the platform that they felt they were being unfairly targeted by dislike attacks. The experiment confirmed this was true — creators with smaller channels were targeted with dislike attacks more than larger creators were.
