YouTube is adopting handles like most other popular social media sites.

This seems pretty important! Locking up a unique short or interesting handle can make your channel worth much more on the market.

Not available for my channels yet, but I will be thinking of some short names to try when it comes up!

Many names are already reserved for channels that already have a username, but still, should be some good selection for the rest of us.

Edit: Seems like they announced this on their blog over a week ago, but I missed it and couldn't find a thread here.

Its been made available to one of my channels, but other channels are still in the waiting line.
I think many blackhat'ers will find a way to exploit this opportunity by acquiring typo names of popular channels. :D
 
Wow, this is great platform to explore. I will create tons of accounts from now onwards.
 
Much like of tiktok i think. They have collaborate and other functionality, Basically they are trying to promote the SHORTS as much as possible.
 
To keep them up in the ongoing competition. Wide opportunity for Handle agencies..

Wow i just emailed this news too. But I only got the email for one of my youtube accounts.

All users will be able to choose a handle. So if you have a bot with 5,000 Gmail/YouTube accounts, you can choose 5,000 handles.

It's normal for them to release to a small group or a few countries, then release to maybe all monetized channels, then release to all users at end of the month or something. I expect within 2 weeks all users can choose a handle.

I received that email from Youtube about my channels but I have no idea how to take advantage of that.
 
Yeh they emailed n told everyone with a chanel that its happening lol... I dnt get why people are getting so hyped over it.
