Hey guys. Hope someone can help me.

I have about 4 min. of video of my own content. But there is a 4 sec clip, that I really like from another youtube channel.

If I used does 4 sec in my 4 min video. Do you think YouTube would be able to notice that?
And give my a copyright strike?

Youtube won't care. But the original copyright owner may.

What is the clip? Is it an Intro/Outro - Like/subscribe kind of stuff?
 
YouTube's algorithm is starting to catch and identify videos with clips rendered alongside comparison samples.. This can recognize tone and visuals, be careful with what you take from other podcasters.

They used to do nothing, but now you have you have to be careful of copyright violations occurring because of new updates.
 
You can do what's known as an "interpretation" of the original footage to avoid a copyright takedown. By interpreting the 4 second-clip, you will have change the video slightly and add your own creative input to it.
 
Thanks for the answers.. Its just a 4 sec clip, of a beach in FPV. A guy is standing on the beach, and sipping a coconut, while looking at the waves. I would then mix that, into my own content of a 4 min highlight of a beach in Thailand.

If it falls under fair use (the "Interpretation" some talked about before), it may be alright. Read more about fair use.
 
You can adjust a little bit the clip such as: change sound, add more photos, etc. Youtube will not recognise it. This is a method people often use to avoid youtube copyright.

i think merging 2 videos is one in remix fair use that yt allows?
 
It depends entirely on the copyright holder's choices.

Try contacting them if afraid as YouTube frowns upon even small duration of foreign copyright use. Be careful or try replicating the sound or image.
 
If it's a Content ID match (automatic), then they monetize your content (or block on countries). You can opt to mute the audio (in most cases). If it's a video match, then you don't have the "mute" option.
If it's a copyright takedown, your video is removed and you get a strike.
 
if you believe it falls under the fair use policy try to petition it.
