Hey guys,

I just got into marketing with youtube videos, and I'm looking for tips on how to get more people to click the links in my description. Have any of you found a method that seems to entice more people to click (big arrow at end of video, text call to action in video, etc.)? Any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Yep, and I've got a little note next to it that says "Click here to get xyz product". Just wanted to see if anyone had stumbled across any other tricks besides putting the link at the top of the description and adding a text call to action at the end of the video.

Funny that you responded, Jake. I'm actually following your journey #2 post right now. Keep up the good work!

I usually put a running footer at the bottom of the video that says something like "To Get a Special Low Price Just Click on the Link Below" with a big down arrow. Also make sure you add about 20-30 seconds on the end of the video with a call to action - that way the viewer won't see the related videos as soon as your main content ends.

i just watermark my videos and put link in description (call to action).

Getting good number of visits from this.

Theres an old saying in the belly to belly sales game ... "Dont spill the beans in the lobby" ...

Means - dont try and give your pitch in some half ass way in the clients lobby ... dont tell em the hook / your best stuff - standing in their lobby 30 seconds after you meet them for the first time.

IMHO - you gotta structure your video content in such a way as to give them some meaningful or several good reasons to be Interested

A - Attention
I - Interest
D - Desire
A - Action

I dont think you can get the target audience to A-Action as well from your bland youtube page - as well as you can on your well oiled sales / landing page where you can hit all the right consumer oriented emotional triggers - to get a much higher % of people to Desire and ACTION [ aka BUY ]

Gotta use that youtube channel to get them frothing at the mouth interested to "learn more" ... you are showing them something so freakin great they HAVE to know more / how youre doing it / how they can have it ... They should be clicking your link off youtube and be at the INTEREST - VERY INTERESTED part of the sales process. If youre trying to get them to the ACTION / BUY phase from your youtube links - you probably have low conversions cuz you havent hit enough emotional triggers to get them to BUY yet - and thats what good sales pages do... with purpose and intention.

just one mans opinion ...

Good luck!

Thanks very much for all the feedback! I'm going to start testing out different strategies to see if there is any impact. Hoping to see some nice CTRs

This is the same approach for me, you might try, we get good results in this

having some sort of description or watermark in the video itself.. most people don't even look at anything else on the page apart from the video and related videos

The key is to imagine YOU'RE watching the video, and that you haven't made it.

Then make it something really fresh, unique, specia and something that you'd really wanna click on.

Thanks very much for the replies, everybody. I'll be testing these techniques out on a few of my videos. I'll report back eventually!

if they click your link before they finish the video does it still count as a view?
