I’ve been selling hosting and server-related services here for several years, so I understand both sides of this discussion. Old sales threads with outdated contact info can definitely cause confusion or lead buyers to impersonators. At the same time, those threads often contain years of client feedback and discussion that show a seller’s credibility and track record.
Rather than removing or replacing them entirely, it would make more sense to keep archived threads visible but automatically strip or redact all contact details—websites, Telegram, emails, etc.—and display a clear banner noting that the thread is archived. The banner could link directly to the active Marketplace section so buyers can find verified sellers offering similar services.
That would preserve transparency, keep the SEO value and community history intact, and still protect users from outdated or unsafe contact details. It’s a balanced solution that maintains fairness for both active sellers and buyers.
