Hey guys,

I know I don't post here a lot, but that doesn't mean I am not learning and growing from the info you all have provided. I am deeply indebted to you. BHW rules!

Using SEO tactics (blackhat) I managed to climb the SERPs of a competitive KW right up to top 5. My problem is that the excerpt of my site looks boring, and something people might end up glancing over, and going to the next one. My traffic is suffering as well - not getting a CTR expected out of ranking top 10 for a xx,xxx+ MS a month KW.

Question: How do you make your site noticeable in the SERPs?

-Can I change the text around, to make it more "clickable"? Will it affect search ranking?
-How do I add a photo (preferably of a hot chick) on my SERP excerpt without linking a G+ profile? Is this even a good idea?

Would love your thoughts on this!

Add a promising title with an adjective.

e.g. if your title is: Free Movies Online

Make it: Watch FREE HD Movies Now!

Notice "Watch" and "HD" was added in to give impact. That's the most effective way to get people to click.
You can change it around to suite your keyword, but you get the point.

The title is an on-site ranking factor, and changing it can affect your SERP whether for good or bad. If you notice your position declining after changing the title, you'd better put back the old one

However, the meta description will not change your position, and you can tweak it to get people interested in clicking on your link. Hire a copywriter if you have to. Nobody is going to click on a meta description that says "watch movie online now free, movies usa hd click here, free 100% online".

Setting up a fake G+ profile for authorship is technically not allowed, and you can get caught especially if you're using an image that's obviously not yours (celebrity etc). I have seen some people who hire a girl for a user pic with model release form, but I have not done it myself.

Just set the title and description meta tags, and *usually* G will display that data, however depending on the relevance of your keyword to that data it may display excerpts from your site that are more relevant, instead.

IF you haven't already done this, try adding Google Authorship (your G+ profile picture will show up next to your website, in SERP). It will definitely make your site stand out of the crowd.

Changing the Meta Description won't affect your ranking, but might influence a better CTR. Play around with it and see how you go.

Meta description does not affect PR are SERP ranking but it can help people click your site but you have to make sure your homepage
is clean, easy to use and informative so that it catches the eyes of people and they stick around to get baited in.
