Ok, that's not a similar experience to yours but here's what happened to me.
A guy downloaded one of my videos and re-uploaded it. Ok, here's the thing. The video itself tells you to go to my website and follow certain steps on that website. Plus, it is watermarked. But that's not all, the guy didn't even replace the links in description and he's driving traffic to MY website. And that's not all! HE EVEN BOOSTED THE VIDEO ON THE FIRST PAGE IN A VERY SATURATED NICHE! hahahaha, now I have 2 videos on the first page in that niche. My video and his video (still my video but with the same links etc) How dumb could this guy be? I guess someone out there loves me really much...
 
I love when I spam my own sites with my tools. Once the comment from GSA SER looked so real that I thought for few seconds it really is real comment :)
 
You find yourself writing comments on other peoples websites which start with the line "My brother" or "My cousin" showed me your website.
 
When you are checking your links and realize that ALL of the comments on the blog are yours.
 
When you're laughing and saying, "I hope I have some money in a years time to pay the tax on this!"

If you want to put it simple being a Black Hat is just to "Take whatever you want".
Carding is more Blackhat than anything IM related will ever be. But where do you draw the line, right?
(especially since the original use of the term is related to the computer underground and not to IM)
