Hey everyone!
My account is new but I have months lurking around this forum and I got to say its incredible the amount of knowledge compressed on this site.
I little bit of my history:
I have never made a single penny online.. But back in July (the 3rd) I decided to open a Shopify store because.. If someone else can do it and make it profitable why shouldn't I??
To make it short, as I mentioned, to the date I have not made a single penny online, but the adrenaline I was feeling while building that website, getting products from AliExpress imported to the website, setting prices, pictures, sections, looking videos on Youtube, Etc Etc , was incredible. I was so hyped about that project that I started on a Friday and I suddenly it was already Sunday and everything was together. That store was like a drug for me. Hours passed by like minutes. Got an IG account for it. IG ads etc etc (Never got to FB ads) it was cool while it lasted. Eventually closed the store in October to stop the $29/month Shopify subscription fee as I never received a single purchase.
After I evaluated, there were many reasons for my failure:
- I was so noob. (I still am)
- The domain was purchased without a clear path on the niche to focus on. So they didn't quite match.
- The niche itself. I was selling products that might be obtained on a Home Depot or local store.
- Multi-product store. I have read these could be profitable, but I had so many that maybe didn't help my potential customers to take a decision.
- The biggest fail. My store ONLY accepted Paypal. What can I say. I live in a 3rd world country where Shopify Payments didn't apply and all other payment processors rejected my requests. The only way out was making a US or EU company, tax forms, etc etc + $600.00 and then request the merchant account. That made me quit.
I continued my 9-5 job as I've been doing forever, but these months of my life cannot be forgotten. I still have that desire of doing more. I was so close Godammit.
I am amazed how you guys make money so easily online. With Blogs, Affiliate marketing, Porn Sites, Freelancing, Trading, Ecommerce, and the list goes on! All of you are real hustlers. While all my real life friends are.. well like normal people.. not hungry enough..
Looking forward on becoming one of you! And not getting banned in the process..
Cheers!!
