Hey everyone!

My account is new but I have months lurking around this forum and I got to say its incredible the amount of knowledge compressed on this site.

I little bit of my history:

I have never made a single penny online.. But back in July (the 3rd) I decided to open a Shopify store because.. If someone else can do it and make it profitable why shouldn't I??

To make it short, as I mentioned, to the date I have not made a single penny online, but the adrenaline I was feeling while building that website, getting products from AliExpress imported to the website, setting prices, pictures, sections, looking videos on Youtube, Etc Etc , was incredible. I was so hyped about that project that I started on a Friday and I suddenly it was already Sunday and everything was together. That store was like a drug for me. Hours passed by like minutes. Got an IG account for it. IG ads etc etc (Never got to FB ads) it was cool while it lasted. Eventually closed the store in October to stop the $29/month Shopify subscription fee as I never received a single purchase.

After I evaluated, there were many reasons for my failure:

- I was so noob. (I still am)

- The domain was purchased without a clear path on the niche to focus on. So they didn't quite match.

- The niche itself. I was selling products that might be obtained on a Home Depot or local store.

- Multi-product store. I have read these could be profitable, but I had so many that maybe didn't help my potential customers to take a decision.

- The biggest fail. My store ONLY accepted Paypal. What can I say. I live in a 3rd world country where Shopify Payments didn't apply and all other payment processors rejected my requests. The only way out was making a US or EU company, tax forms, etc etc + $600.00 and then request the merchant account. That made me quit.

I continued my 9-5 job as I've been doing forever, but these months of my life cannot be forgotten. I still have that desire of doing more. I was so close Godammit.

I am amazed how you guys make money so easily online. With Blogs, Affiliate marketing, Porn Sites, Freelancing, Trading, Ecommerce, and the list goes on! All of you are real hustlers. While all my real life friends are.. well like normal people.. not hungry enough..

Looking forward on becoming one of you! And not getting banned in the process..:D

Cheers!!

I don't think many of us would say that we make money online easily. Sure, once you've get everything in place and some traffic coming in regularly it gets easier, but easy money just doesn't exist in my view.

Good job on looking at where you could have improved with your online store. I would suggest that before you launch in future, spend months on your plan to make sure it is as refined as possible before you execute. Look for things that there aren't a lot of competition for, especially in Google searches as search traffic is free traffic.

Its a progress, i am at make money niche for the last 7 years and I earn from only the last 1.5years. Its a learning curve we need to pass through. Good luck with your journey mate.

Hardworking is a key to success. Don't give up continue your positive thinking. Even I want to give up but I found it here and you need to read some thread to make some idea.

Hi
Its been 10 years for me working as a full time freelancer and outsourcing worker. If you want to sell your merit than marketplace website is the best. But in case of affiliate marketing there have no boss on to the top of the head. I appreciate your try. I was also a job holder and left the job and doing freelancing as a full time. You can also give a drive. You have paypal. You have friends. Look for works surround you or start a career on marketplace website. Hope you will become happy at marketplace websites.

Welcome to BHW! You are definitely in the best place to learn!

Thanks a lot for your messages! I will definitely keep working on different ideas until one of them works out. I am thinking on going for the affiliate marketing. Will be posting a thread under that section with a few questions.

I believe I am a good writer too (Never done a freelance job as it) but after my account lets me reply on the HAF I will be exploring this path too. I would like to do some jobs even for free, just to make sure I can do a quality article or learn to do it.

Well, thanks again!!

Hope this new year brings a bunch businesses towards us! :)
