I have a site, the domain is over a year old now. It is a kinda Tutorial site. Teaches people about a certain topic/industry and each article is teaching about a different aspect.

I started building and adding to the site the start of this year, so 10 months now (on and off)

28 articles, all SEO optimised.
The home page isn't a static page.
Have a twitter/facebook/instagram accounts created linking back to the site.

Competition on keywords is pretty low, and monthly searches range from couple hundred to a few thousand.

But nothing is ranking. Well, I have 2 ranking on yahoo and 1 of them on google (page 68) too but that is a slight variation on one of my long keywords (Does it make a difference if my keyword had "an" in it and whats ranking is with "a" in it?). Anyway, thats it. Everything on Serp is just a - .

I purchased the Jack Sparrow Revenge IV package from here back in may/june (did nothing to help rankings)

So any tips or ideas on what I could be doing wrong would be a great help!

(happy to send the site URL/Keywords to people in a PM if they want to see what it is and try and help)

No ideas?

So had a look, and my average word count for the articles is 674 words... Do you think an increase to closer to 1000 words per post would help?

Are you sure you are doing a good OnPage SEO?
It seems to me that the problem should be in onpage SEO.

Moreover, what does the Webmaster tools say. Are the pages normally indexed in the Google

"Deoptimize" the site, resubmit its root on google webmaster stools. Sounds like you've over optimized.

It sounds like you just need more links.

If it was as easy as buying 1 link package we would all be rich.

You need some PBN links, web 2.0s, blog post, and anything else you can get your hands on.

Cold hard truth?

Throw it away and start from zero. You can't buy from someone something named Jack Sparrow and expect not to be throwing away money and your whole domain.
If an article(inner page) of yours does not rank in top 100 without any backlink then you are doing something wrong on-page wise.
SEO cannot be an aftertought. You gotta take care of the structure from the first day and all the 200+ known-almost-for-sure-factors. Read some books and articles about that stuff before wasting more time.

If it wasn't clear enough. DO NOT buy backlinks, ever. If you want to buy something, buy advertising to collect emails with lead magnets or seo-wise expired domains with good metrics. (50$-3000$ per domain)

oh, and remember, it's better to buy 10 extremely strong domains for 200$ each and build out of them 10 extremely realistic websites that bring 0-100$ per month than buying 100 mid class domains for 20$ each that you can't make them look like a real website.

OH, last thing. We're not in 2009 anymore. You gotta build a helpful website full of custom illustrations, useful content and infographics if you want some long lasting revenue from G and being able to flip it no problem at x24 the monthly revenue 1 year from now.

Couldn't disagree more. If each inner page you create does not rank within top 100 max 150 without ANY backlink within few days, then there's something extremely wrong with your on page seo and/or website structure and/or article and/or domain.

I've had a few SEO checks, think I've researched enough and done a good job. Just did a quick test on one of those online checks, 88/100.

What the hell did I just read? You are completely wrong. Beyond 100% wrong.

Find some long tail keywords with very low competition and add them to your already exisiting articles

Hey
any chance I could send you the URL if you would be kind enough to have a look? See if you can spot any errors?
Thanks

Silly question but are you sure you haven't got it set to noindex, or aren't blocking the Google crawler in htaccess, etc?

All the articles are originally written, not just spun articles, has a mix of custom and royalty free images etc.
It's not a site I can just throw away unfortunately. It's not made just to churn out some money an go again. Aiming for a long lasting site, thanks.
