Are there people that after these numerous breaches still use yahoo mail? lol
I do. Yahoo was the first email I ever had. I'm pretty sure I signed up around 2001 my freshman year in college.
Reasons I can't leave yahoo:
1) Ancient messages from friends, family, people who've died that I've saved forever.
2) I get old friends who remember by email but forgot my number & since I don't hang out on FB I normally check yahoo.
3) All my established business shit is tied to yahoo.
4) My newer business stuff is tied to other addys and forwarded to my yahoo.
5) Yahoo is like my central intelligence agency.
Reasons I need to leave yahoo:
1) 4 sign in attempts in the last 2 months.
2) Constantly asking to change my password.... which are normally 20-30 characters long.
3) Was hacked and blocked out of my account last year. Then blocked again this week (though noone got through unlike last time)
4) SPAM.
5) SPAM SPAM SPAM.
Ironically it's not security but the spam that's gonna force me to switch.
I've been unsubscribing from shit I've never subscribed to at least 2 years now just trying to control spam, creating filter but the spam NEVER ENDS.
Every day I login I have between 50-100 spam messages I have to delete and click unsub as fast as possible. Gotta do that everyday before responding to business emails.
The problem is I don't know what a good solution would be? What's a good email? I have gmails, hotmails, commercial mail that forwards to yahoo.... what are you people using?
And more importantly how the fuck do you stop spam? A lot of the spam I get is from catchall emails on my local sites. Spammers scrape it off our contact page than go crazy.
So if I forward to another email that's never gonna change. I can't remove those emails as customers use them. Like it's inevitable that if you do IM or lead gen you're gonna get spammed for the rest of your life no matter what you do.
