Out of morbid curiosity I registered an .xyz domain through this place.
Way, WAY too easy. They're right - it's all free. They verify you're human by sending you a text message with a pin number that you have to enter before you can continue. I got my email address and everything. But, once you get inside, you're charged for using things like Wordpress or Weebly to create your site. It's $10/mo to install Wordpress, BuddyPress or Weebly, and $5/mo for gmail integration.
They also have a .co membership program. Buy a .co through them and you get access to lots of perks like tickets to tech events, discounts on popular web tools, etc. So they actually make money by giving away .xyz domains, bc someone is bound to buy at least one product from them.
Nice setup. But more importantly, it proves the fact that .xyz domains are in fact a valuable resource for the IM community. I can't wait to use my domain to tell people about my new WSO detailing how to make $100,000 using Followliker and a piece of string in one month for $7.
