Hey all!

Since we all are trying to push our websites to the first spot in G i decided to invest in a decent dedicated server.

As i already have 5 vps servers i xsserver i decided to go with them as i had ok results with running scrapebox from these vps's.

Couple of days ago i ordered a DE-PDS3 dedicated server as it looked the most decent over there and most suitable for my needs.

Running a few copies of SB SMOOTH.

Specs:

  • Intel Core I7 860 8X2.8 GHZ
  • Quad Core
  • 2X1500 GB Hard Drive
  • 12 GB DDR3 RAM
  • 5000 GB Monthly Transfer
  • 1000mbit Uplink

2 Days later everything was set up and ready to use, and for me as a dedi newbie, i thought this was pretty decent.

So i installed 1 SB version 15.0 as this was for me the most stable version, but it was freezing up for me two times with the link checker with 200 threads.

So i decided to upgrade to the latest version, 15.12 atm, to see if there was any improvement of the stability.

Did two runs on autoapproved blogs.

First run.
150 threads fast poster/link checker
1150 run
559 successfull
601 failed
TIME: 1.45
FOUND LINKS: 465

Second run.
250 threads fast poster/link checker
1227 run
553 successfull
674 failed
TIME:1.48
FOUND LINKS: 373

But, when done with the link checker. Tada. It freezes up on me again.
Although i have a decent amount of ip's i did the runs with no private proxies, except for the servers ip.

Just to check out the purest for these test runs.

ATM i am waiting for the server to be rebooted and then i will roll back again to the 15.0 version again as it was the most stable one of them all for me.

I am pretty sure something aint right here. Im pretty much a dedi noob but there is something wrong here.

Anyone else here with simular specs that can help me out? Would be highly appreciated.

Thanks in advance.

I got a basic dedicated server DE PDS1 with them around a month ago. The initial 2-3 days were fantastic,

but after that the performance deteriorated to such and extent that I had to drop it.

within 3 weeks, the server had been rebooted 8 times, and each time I blasted xsserver guys as I had a lot of work going on which was all lost.

his all happened during the checking only.. and I explained them that I was running only a single instance with 200 thread while their vps handle two similar instances with utmost ease.

The MOST USELESS investment I have made in the recent times was in this dedicated, not only time and effort but a my business suffered. :|

I already have 3 VPS with them, bought another one, which has almost the same performance that the dedicated gave in those initial days. :)

VPS work pretty well, I am not at all going for a dedicated with them. Pity they had to bear with the hate mails.. but I was extremely frustrated.

I give them full marks for the VPS though
:D :D

PS: They will take at least 12 hours to reboot the server as they dont have a port with themselves to reboot it. Everytime they send a person to the Datacentre or whatever and that takes ages. One of my reboot took 48hours to get processed. In short, their dedicated servers are horrible. My POV though :)

Hi Chiky cin,

Thanks for the reply.

Yeah at the moment i am not too pleased either atm. Checking for links seems to be th bottleneck in a lot of stories.

Had the same problem on the vps but that cleared up since i rolled back to the 15.0 version. Since then no more problems on 40 threads.

For now i am starting to believe i made a bad choice to go with them, but its just after a few hours now, so i am giving them some slack...

Going to dust off my live messenger and going to connect with the staff that way...

Keeping you guys posted.

I'm not on a dedi but a VPS with em and yeah they suck :p
Every time I tried to run fast poster on a 300K list, it freezed the whole damn thing and I had to reboot. And now that VPS is just useless for me as I purchased it exclusively for SB.

You might want to go for http://iweb.com/ if you're looking for a dedi.

Cheers.

well their VPS have been working fine for me...Obviously they cannot handle like 5 instances...But 2 instances at 100 connections each were working fine for me..

I purchased their dedicated as i have loads of SB work...Their dedicated is able to handle 3 instances at 200 connections each easily with good success ratio...However the problem comes when you run link checker in SB...First of all the speed of link checker was quite slow (even slower than their VPS) and almost 80% of the time the server hanged....

Whenever i contacted them and said that your VPS is able to handle more load, they said contact software vendor and the customer care was pretty much useless. They don't even have a KVM switch to fasten the process. Everytime it resulted in loads of data loss for me...

Finally i tried running only 1 instance of link checker at 100 connections and then also it got hung...So finally i got irritated and told them to close the server...

Trust me within 3 weeks, i had to get it rebooted atleast 8 times..Was a pain in the arse....

I read on another thread that its better to have several VPS with them than to get a single dedi for above reasons.

LOL even one instance of SB eats up my VPS :p I'm using their $35/mo package. And where they say 100Mbits link, here is what I get:

Ridiculous!

Mmm... having a bad feeling about this already.

Obviously i am a heavy user also for my own sites and backlink services...

Can i ask you were you are having your dedi now and how you are running your SB there?

Starting to think to go for another company already.... :(

I noticed iweb has except from the unmetered option only a 100mbit line?

well go for spamahost....with them you don't even require proxies...:D

Lol, i get around 30mbps on their vps and used to get 80mbps on their dedited...

try Fdcservers dot net

My friend has been using them for over an year for SB and is working great for him

Yeah just sended them a email with a question...

No reboot from xsserver still... :( Not looking good.

Yeah same here atm...

Couple of fast replies of 'rebooted your server' yada, but i asked a more specialized question and a few hours now nothing.

BTW.

I noticed on the spamahost thread your question "your basis dedicated Core 2 Duo E7400 (250$ pm) can handle how many SB instances at 200 connections each??"

May i ask what the reply was and setup time?

Thinking of running 3/4 SB's and my xrumer over there on this package.

Thanks for your help btw! Rep given.

Core 2 Quad - Intel C2Q Q9400 2.66Ghz (8 GB Ram)
Quad Core - 2.66 Ghz
8 Gb Ram
2x500Gb SATA or 64 GB SSD
Unmetered Bandwidth
100 MB Line

I recvd. this reply

Can't exactly give you a number since we have not ran these tests on the server.

And now i see that the thread has been closed...maybe all their servers are full...go with fdc servers...

I didn't purchase from spamahost as I didn't get a satisfying reply...Also tried adding them on skype, but no reply....For the time being i decided to purchase more vps from xsserver and somehow getting on with work...

PS: requesting SB license transfer is another issue...:p

Well did a lot of reading again on XSserver and half of the users love them, other half hate them lolz...

Sended spamahost and fdc a mail, and xsserver is taking a look at the dedi as we speak.

Keeping you all posted.

Yeah keep us updated.

I just had a chat with iweb's live support and they seem more professional them XSserver :)

For $85 a month, I think I'll give 'em a try at the end of this month (When I get some pocket money :p )

Cheers.

Dedi's up again and i see a memtest going on at the desktop for 2048mb ram? :ponder:

what i found irritating about XsServer Dedicated is that the Remote Desktop is very slow if you run Xrumer at 100 threads.

the remote desktop connection of their VPS is much faster even if Xrumer is running at 100 threads

They put up a few memtests overthere...

Hello,
Sorry to say but we have no knowledge about the software that you running Scrapebox, I suggest you to contact the software vendor and ask them why server is crashing, I do not think it is due to hardware issue cause all servers are brand new.
