Xbox 360 vs. Playstation 3

I own both and here's my take: I modded my 360 to play torrented games, and for PS3 I only play its exclusive games.

360 games: $4 a piece
PS3 blu-ray games: about $40-60 a piece.

I play them all offline.

If you're a graphic whore, go with PS3 and get awed on playing Metal Gear Solid 4. Buying PS3 exclusives worth every penny and I never had any regret on buying them even though it costs so damn expensive. That's how powerful a PS3 for a third-world-country hardcore gamer like me: a $50 can buy your food in a week from where I come from. But thanks to my online gig, I won't have to flinch to grab a brand new PS3 exclusive that come up any day.

As for 360, I can say that I enjoy it very much. Just finished Modern Warfare 2 and now playing Bayonetta. Only just one thing I hate about 360: it's D-pad controller really sucks ass HARD!! MS has the most brainiest people on the planet and they come up with that sh!tty Dpad??? WTF are they thinking??

But all in all, I'd lean toward PS3 though :D

xbox 360 is the best!!! Plus it has more games than ps3. btw its not called project milo or project dimitri the official name is project NATAL.
Project Dimitri was the code name from way back when Lionhead Studios was independent. It was in the works for many years. You can check it on Wikipedia if you don't believe me.

Oh and btw you can stream porn from your PC to Xbox so there's no loss of porn involved in going with Xbox.

just go for the ps3. the fact that xbox360 has a slightly larger game library and has good online does not make up for the other things it has to make it better than a ps3. ps3 fits the criterion for what you mentioned OP.

$4 360 games? In America PS3 and 360 games are the same price. Also why are you using the D-Pad that much? You should be using the thumbstick.

He's talking about torrented games.

And I forgot to mention another good reason for 360 is you can make games for it if you're a hobby developer using XNA Game Studio.

If you are going to illegally download 360 games why are you paying anything?

Oh, wasn't thinking about burning the disk, thought he meant he was paying $4 for just the game. Yea dual layer disks are expensive.

It's clear that PS3 is the better machine.

If you want to pay for online and you like shooters than xbox is your system.

If you're not obssessed with Halo, Call Of Duty and ever other carbon copy 1P game of each other then PS3 with it's other capabilities is the better option.

Oh, so you mean I can only play online with 1,000 people and not 1,000,000. Awe shucks.

Anway, yes the black screen is just sitting there. Did some searching around and it's a common problem. I have the model that can play ps2 games, too.

Some can reset it, others cant. I'm downloading firmwire update now..maybe that could help....

Yeah good choice :P. Thats the thing with the new ones aswell, i believe you cannot install linux on them. Im sure most people dont give two shits, but just incase you wanted to.

@leprakhauns :
About not being able to play PS2 games on the newer consoles, errr.. Why even bring that up. Because Xbox 360 can play Xbox games?

Plus who cares about last.fm integration and all that crap. Your PS3 IS a computer. You can browse the web ffs on it. Use TVersity media server and you have yourself a whole media computer bundled into one.

Is it just me, or is there something wrong with the sentence "You can check it on Wikipedia if you don't believe me"?

Dual Layered DVD are expensive. The cheap ones ALMOST ALWAYS fuck up.

Yep, got that right.

I'm and old school gamer and D-pad is always my thing. I play games since the dawn of Super Mario Bros and Zelda NES. But, since sidescrollers and 2D games are becoming extinct nowadays, using thumbstick has become a second nature by now. But still, I miss those good ol' days of gaming. Really brings back a lot of memories.

I have a computer, I bought my 360 to play games. Fable, Halo, Left4Dead, GTA4. You want to browse the web go on your phone or any other device with internet capabilities. You gotta look at the games, and the 360 has some of the best games that are exclusives.

ForeverNever said:
you have to mod your xbox to play torrented games but apparently it isn't that hard. only problem with that is you'll get banned from xbox live because they can tell.

Hi all, I'm completely new here, just learning the marketing thing for the first time, hope to get to know alot of you here :D

Back to topic, I'm an owner of both systems, and my 360 is modded, this is true, but I don't own my 360 for online reasons due to the membership fee, where as with the playstation, for ALOT of the games that have multiplayer (on a small scale) create servers hosted on other players PS3's, so it's free (again, unless your playing a MMO or some other monthly subscription game).

On the other hand, there are less players on the PS3 than the 360 playing online for some reason, the 360 has made itself known as the online gaming console where the PS3 is still somewhere in the shadows for online participants, and in most cases, it's the PS3 that you'll find the vast majority of FPS gamers, due to it being free to play a FPS VS the 360 requiring the gold membership.

If your interested in fighting games such as streetfighter, mortal combat, and the like, where in most cases it's a lmiited number of people allowed in the game to begin with, I'd go with the PS3 for the free online gaming on the small scale, if your interested in anything that requires you to connect to an external server to play onlien with other players, I'd suggest the 360 because of the amount of players on the network compared to the PS3.

I'm an avid gamer, I own nearly all systems (yes, even the nintendo, and it still works) and I'll tell you now, it ALL depends on what you want, the 360 has it's strengths, and the PS3 has it's strengths, neither will cater to everything you want, so you'll have to figure out what will provide you with the most.

Good luck in your decision.

You are asking for an all out war of words with this thread. :lmao:

IMHO, the PS3 is the only way to go. Not sure who gave you your facts, but you can play online with the PS3. Playing COD4 online is the ish. However, it sounds like you aren't a fan of COD. Shameful, but oh what can you do. ;)

I just like the PS3 better because I like the controller better. Personal preference? Yes. Biased? Of course not. :p

BTW, I'm not sure if you knew this, but the new PS3 is way, WAY smaller than the original. And if my memory sits well, I believe its more powerful than the original. (I was at best buy earlier this week)

Now, the question is, why haven't I bought a PS3 yet? There is no good answer to that.

1. How much did you pay, including the cost of the warranty?

2. Where did you purchase it from?

Well, I took it back and decided to buy a new one.
so after and hour of tweaking, I got my PS3 to finally find the internet connection and now it won't let me sign in because of a DNS error 80710102, can anyone help me out??

This is worst than split testing.

Bigger player base for any game on the Xbox 360. Think of it this way, the PS3 doesn't have any sports exclusives, and with the Xbox 360 you get a ton of strategy games as well. I know there are a lot, I just can't name them as I'm an FPS player.

Refer to my quote ;). Someone was bragging about the amazing integration Xbox 360 has. When really PS has everything in it.

Sure you have your computer, but your PS3 is a more powerful PC then you probably own right now.

Actually, I thought quite the opposite (whilst shopping, of course)
I was looking for some good strategy games and all I found was BAM, BOOM! SHOOT SHOOT SHAT! FPS games.

Yea I've been doing a search for this DNS error and there's quite a few "fixes" out there.

This is worse than a google slap.

Well, ok maybe not that bad but maybe someday I'll be able to play p3 online.
