Google ads in bid strategy learning phase, It's spending money on broad match search terms instead of keyword list I gave. How can I stop it as I am working on very micro niche and new search term results are completely irrelavant.

Set the campaign on exact match keywords.

It’s normal during the learning phase, but you can limit it. Switch all keywords to exact match, add negative keywords, and avoid broad match altogether. If it still wastes budget, use manual CPC until the algorithm stabilizes.

Yeah, that happens when google's learning phase tries to explore keywords it thinks might work. for micro niches, the safest way is to pause broad match, switch to exact or phrase match, and give it a bit of time to stabilize. also check if any smart bidding is overriding your settings.

smart bidding is over riding my settings and I can't change it. Can I pm you personally?

Just duplicate the campaign, switch it to manual CPC, and use only exact or phrase match keywords that way Smart Bidding won’t mess with your setup anymore

that’s normal in the learning phase. switch to phrase or exact match and add some negative keywords to stop the random traffic.

Use exact match keywords and add negative keywords to optimize costs and clicks.

Hey Beryllium, switch to exact match keywords and stack up those negative keywords to block irrelevant terms. It'll keep your micro-niche ads tight and on point.

That usually happens during the learning phase Google tests broader terms to gather data. You can try switching to “Phrase Match” or “Exact Match” only, and add irrelevant ones as negative keywords. Also, keep an eye on the search terms report daily; trimming those early helps control spend fast.
