WTF keyword sellers??

Er, I think the point is being missed in many of these posts.

"if you got time why not learn to do your own keyword findings and investigation"

Before ordering articles, people generally do this first. Then they give the keywords they have already researched to the content creators / writers because writing 1,000 words usually takes longer than finding a LT keyword that is specific to your niche.

So the process is like this:

-You research Keywords
-You order article from content provider
-Content Provider writes article & also sells keywords at the same time (but of course - not yours - right? ;))

Copyscape / other apps are irrelevant to this discussion.

That's an entirely other subject though. I have the same feel that they cant be selling quality at these prices. But, I can only speculate about their quality since I havent tried them. Apart from that, there are guys that sell 500 dollar keywords at times so quality could indeed be good.

But imagine this. If you couldn't type 27K words per hour you would need a writer :p. So, you go to your writer with your 100 "gem" keywords that you found by using the various methods you describe and you later on find out that you writer is selling keywords. Wouldn't that ring any bells?

It would ring some bells. The issue is there's a second and very serious "counter" conflict of interest.

There's the conflict of interest for the buyers. But there is also a huge conflict of interest for the seller. That could easily counter any temptation to do that. The reason I say this is because one of the industries I work in, the entire industry is a GIANT conflict of interest. Everyone in our state knows. Our state has tried (and failed) to regulate the industry.

I won't out the industry but I'll out a similar one. Asbestos. Lets pretend lots of people call me to test for asbestos. I forward those calls to brokers. And not only do we do asbestos testing we also remediate and restore homes that test positive for it. Everyone SEES great potential for conflict of interest. But all businesses are legally allowed to do both the testing and clean up. From what I've witnessed personally over the last 4-5 years, although there SEEMS to be huge conflict of interest, most companies will NOT fuck with or adulterate the testing. The reason we know this is cause we've done stings on our own. They're easy and cheap thanks to free inspections. The media has also done this (quite a bit). We've helped them and gotten on tv showing how criminal chemists rig the tests.

And we DID find people adulterating samples. But the majority of legitimate companies will not risk that type of blow to their bottomline. I myself have had the reckless and tempting thought to rig a test. But that's immediately followed by "NO BUDDY, u fuckn idiot, the reason we do so well is cause we don't do this".

I tell this to our brokers, inspectors, everyone. ANYTIME you go in a home ASSUME you're being filmed. Assume the media is in that home as you never know when a sting will be done. You don't always do it cause it's right. You do it cause it's profitable. Right is profitable, leads to honor & trust which makes $.

I can't say this same "honor system" applies for BHW. Since BHW is a much faster revolving door as far as BSTs. But if the seller has any type of credibility or reputation, buyers have to imagine the catastrophe if just **1** found this out and posted proof on the forum. What that would do to the sellers financial future? The same thing that puts food on the table.

For me, you look at the benefits vs consequences. Then other simple facts. Like... we have incredible software, custom bots, all types of systems for finding keywords. Is it even really efficient to steal keywords from the top 5-10% of your content buyers? Isn't it more efficient & economical in every way to have a real system in place? What happens if people stop buying content? You're not gonna stop selling keywords.

So being real I'd say that yes, some people very likely do sell keywords from content buyers. Or use keywords to inspire the scraping/processing they do (my own hunch). But overall if you're working with someone you trust, I wouldn't worry about it that much. It's always gonna be a concern but when you put yourself in the sellers shoes it's not as tempting as it seems. What's more tempting is me just stealing your keywords to try and outrank you myself. However, even doing that... it's not like I can compete against that many people so the risk is still low.

One last consideration. If I had the choice between a codependent (and typically noob) keyword buyer buying my keywords on BHW for $10+ vs an experienced, veteran marketer independently finding them on their own... I'd prefer my keywords got sold to the codependent marketer 10/10 times. As that person is far less likely to understand the value of the keywords. They're more likely to complain, underestimate value... or just act polite and never buy again. Because keywords are really worth the amount of calculated work you're willing to put behind them. Like the difference between milk and gasoline. You can have a starving child and $4. You can buy 1 gallon of milk or 1 gallon of gas. Which do you buy? I buy the gas to put in my truck, a mower, then go mow some lawns which immediately raises the value of that gasoline. When you apply this work/value dynamic to the neverending slew of lazy fucks... it just makes me that more confident.

I don't know if I sound like an optimist or pessimist cause I'm trying to be objective. But overall I don't think this is a significant conflict of interest.

Nice points, but detracts away from the main point: Is there a conflict of interest selling both content and keywords?

I believe the price / service of those selling KWs was not brought into question.

If it ever came out that a seller was ' scamming / cheating ' buyers, their reputation and therefore business would be ruined overnight.

This is no different to buying a complete service where the seller has access to your keywords etc.

Whenever you outsource to a third party, there is an element of risk BUT if you are dealing with professionals then their reputation should allow you to trust them.
Always carry out some form of due diligence on everybody you work with and asses that risk.
If you are dealing with a professional then their reputation is worth more to them than making a quick buck.

Man, do something with that name ...

lol..what?

Here is the solution to all your troubles and worries: Don't give out your gem of a keyword. Done.

To elaborate: If your keyword is "Best Dentist reviews in Dallas", just have someone write an article on "dentist reviews". Then just add in the keyword post delivery. It takes 5 seconds.

Use your brain people.

There are people selling keywords? How much are they worth each?

TBH, I have like 600+ potential keywords here for Amazon aff, all done and good to go, just need to add some competition analysis (although it has already been done before, but competition changes all the time)... During the time after I scoop out what I want, I was like, "Okay what should I do with these 'excess'?"

Although I am more inclined to SEO and link building services, I would be happy to sell those keywords I don't need and don't have plan to go after. I'm contented with what I have right now, and I am now pursuing membership type of sites now.
