So I have a website where I sell internet marketing software. All been going great for the last year. Then I get an email out of the blue from PayPal saying I can no longer do business with them, with no explanation why.

I call them, the guy says he can't tell me why but it's just to "protect PayPal". He also says I can't open any new accounts. So I'm essentially banned now with no idea why.

Only ever had one charge back. Some disputes raised, some refunds given, some escalation, some I won, some the customer won. Pretty normal.

Anyone got any experience with this?

Where do I go from here?

Sad times.

Its just gaypal thing, full of fuck tards, go with other option like 2checkout or authorize net or any similar one.

What actually happens with my current members? People who have subscriptions...

Will they just continue to pay into this PayPal account I can't withdraw from for 180 days?

Same shit happend yesterday after I got the payment arses limited my account with 180 days lock-in period.

When you asked, "Wtf is wrong with PayPal?" I wanted to go get my list. I loathe them so much even being with them for over 12 years. I only use them when I absolutely have to.

Haven’t faced the exact situation but what I do know is that communicating with PayPal customer service is like repeatedly head butting a wall whilst trying to sip a hot cup of tea slowly and eating a sugary donut without licking your lips.

Sounds like 2checkout is your best bet.

Nothing you can do about... PayPal is a bitch!! I hate them so much ugh. Got banned too but still not stopping me from using it tho

Best is to move to stripe or 2checkout.

If you check the acceptable usage policy of paypal, it says (in point 2)

Relate to transactions involving (a) narcotics, steroids, certain controlled substances or other products that present a risk to consumer safety, (b) drug paraphernalia, (c) cigarettes, (d) items that encourage, promote, facilitate or instruct others to engage in illegal activity, (e) stolen goods including digital and virtual goods, (f) the promotion of hate, violence, racial intolerance or the financial exploitation of a crime, (g) items that are considered obscene, (h) items that infringe or violate any copyright, trademark, right of publicity or privacy or any other proprietary right under the laws of any jurisdiction, (i) certain sexually oriented materials or services, (j) ammunition, firearms, or certain firearm parts or accessories, or (k) certain weapons or knives regulated under applicable law.

The h) section is pretty interesting. If your software does any scraping (or anything that violates the terms) on any kind of website, you can't use paypal.. E.g. afaik scraping google for any kind of content is against the terms (which is damn funny for obvious reasons).. So, in theory, software like scrapebox should be a bad business for paypal.

Although I could be horribly wrong here. I am not a lawyer.

Pretty sure that's it then. I made the assumption I was safe with them as there are websites selling cracked copies of my software and using PayPal for payments. The irony, scraping Google is a life time ban, selling illegal software, they don't give a fuck. Or that site just hasnt been flagged yet. Who knows.

You had PayPal business verified acc or just private acc?
In past, I had problems with non-business verified PayPal acc's..

Business fully verified as far as I'm aware.

I am sure they are not banned because they aren't flagged. They are breaking the e) and h) section of the term.. I would at least flag them to paypal if I was you.
