Hi guys,

I'm having trouble with wp robot article and amazon module. My main and most important issue however is amazon.

I am using the studiopress theme. The image will post within the post when you click on it, but does not appear on the homepage.

1.How do I get the product image to appear on the homepage? Do you have to put whatever it is in the description? or perhaps custom fields?.....

2. Sometimes the full description and buy now button doesn't appear. How do I make sure it always appears?

3. For both the article and amazon module, how do you get the title to not appear in the description. When I put {amazontitle} or {articletitle} the title appears fine. But then the title appears in the description again when I put {amazon} or {article}. Is there a way to avoid the title appearing in the description as well.

I will send $5 paypal gift to anyone who can just let me know what the proper syntaxes are to make things work correctly. So anyone who has experience with wp robot and studiopress theme just answer here, if it works I will send money to your paypal IMMEDIATELY! Thanks

You must use the wp robot short codes in your themes template, it may require editing your template files post.php or page.php and placing those short codes where you want them to appear.

I don't want your five bucks, just trying to help.

@cookiejar
thanks and + reps for swift friendly helpfull advice
thats what BHW is all about.
cheers

Thanks for the response. I've tried everything. At this point nothing has worked. Anyone who has used the studiopress theme and can just tell me exactly what needs to go where to get this thing working, I'd appreciate it.

Don't you just have to place whatever the syntaxes are in the post content field when you create a new campaign?

Hi there. I try to help for your #1 question:
I've never use studiopress theme, but please make sure that studiopress doesn't use custom field to generate thumbnail, instead using wp feature image. If it use wp feautere image, it's highly possible my method will work. Okay, here is the idea: Since the image are generated by wp-robot, and I presume the image in your blog are hotlinked, so the theme doesn't recognize it, thus the thumbnail won't show up in the front page. So, this what I do to deal with the issue:

  • In WPRobot setting: check Save Images to Server.
  • Install Auto Post Thumbnail Plugin & activate it. This plugin will treat the first image in the post as a featured image.
  • Check your front page, it image thumbnails should show up.

For your #2 question: please to always use Amazon template for amazon campaign. The button & description will surely show up. I have never encounter this kind problem when using WP RObot 3 (btw, what edition is your WP Robot?).

I hope that will help you sort your problems.

Cheers...

1)About the pics in your post i had the same problem before but with elegant themes.

This is how i resolve it :

elegant themes utilizes a script called TimThumb to automatically resize images. Whenever you make a new post you will need to add a custom field. Scroll down below the text editor and click on the "custom fields" link. In the "Name" section, input "Thumbnail" (this is case sensitive). In the "Value" area, input the url to your thumbnail image. Your image will automatically be resized and cropped. The image must be hosted on your domain. (this is to protect against bandwidth left)
Important Note: You must CHMOD the "cache" folder located in the Magnificent directory to 777 for this script to work. You can CHMOD (change the permissions) of a file using your favorite FTP program. If you are confused try following this tutorial. Of course instead of CHMODing the template folder (as in the tutorial) you would CHMOD the "cache" folder found within your theme's directory.
Maybe it s the same thing with studiopress....

2)With WPRobot you need to ad a custom field

name : image value:{image}

Here you get some good videos about WPRobot3 config (about the custom fields , look the video 3:campaign creation advanced setting at 2min55 from the begining)

Code:
wprobot . net / videos /#3
If you can't watch the video, put the paypal adress you had used to register WPRobot.

Thanks for the response diablojump. It actually does use custom field to generate the thumbnail. How do I get it to use wp feature image (if possible)? (I also tried the auto post thumbnail plugin and it didn't work. Although that was before I realized what you said about the wp feature. Perhaps thats why it didn't work? :/)

By the way just to give an example of what I'm trying to do, here is an example of a site that uses the amazon module successfully:

budurl dizotttttt cizomm

backwurrd shlash example100

(can't post the url but obviously remove spaces and replace Dizotttttt with a period and back shlash with / and remove the i,z, and extra m in cizomm

I mostly plan on using it on hpbottom like the site above currently does.

Still looking for solution. Thanks

Okay, your example site maybe using WPRobot (i found some of its article scatter around the web, with no spin whatsoever).

BUT, i don't think it using its amazon module (only article). The amazon widget you saw below each article is carousel widget. You can easily build and get the link from amazon affiliate section. Choose the product, get the code, and paste it below the loop, then wallaa.. finish!
Try it mate :)

Yeh I know they are using an amazon carousel all the way on the bottom but above that they are using wp robot amazon. If you hover over the thumbnail/images you will notice the image location is amazon website and some even have the buy now button on the front page...

Sorry jj1214.. didn't catch you on that :p
I still can't figure the solution for your problem. ATM, i just don't have time to try the theme my self. Maybe some other time.
Good luck mate :)

I have spent 3 hours looking everywhere to this answer. Thanks it helped with my premium theme. Using the auto post thumbnail plugin and storing the images. Thanks again.

hey I got that same $5 plus $5 for someone who can answer this question....yes, that might be 2 bottles of boones farm, but if your smart, i have no problem getting you drunk :haha:

So here is the problem. I am trying to please a demanding customer, and it is getting to be really a hard time. I need to get custom images into the wprobot posts, without using flickr. He wants his own in there. So, to that I have applied these answers without any result:
I have tried using the random image plugin, random image widget, coding a custom PHP solution (it screws with my php when i put it in the body, and doesn't recognize it in the custom field) and tried the same trick with java, the outcome same as the PHP.

I am so stuck  please anyone with some useful knowledge come along and school the newby....I promise to get you drunk!!! :present:

Hey Guys,

I was having the same problem so I installed the plugin "Get The Image" and everything works fine now.

From memory you can download it through WP if not just Google it if not let me know and I will send it across.
