Hi all,

Not much luck searching on Google. I'm unable to create a menu on WP, either through customize or through appearance->menu. I've tried disabling plugins (all but elementor and elementor pro). Anyone run into this before? Hoping it's an easy fix, otherwise will probs. need to reinstall WP idk. WP/Web dev. isn't my strong point :)

Appreciate the help.

Have you tried switching to the default theme and then trying it? What happens when you try to create it?

There are a few click boxes at the bottom of the menu setup they will place the menu where you want it to go some of them don't have this setup and it needs to be done manually

Current theme is the stock 2017 theme atm. You think it's worth trying to switch to 2020? I'm worried about design/formatting. I guess I could export everything as elementor templates and add into new theme if it works. I build everything using Elementor Pro.

Here's a screenshot of menu settings. Entering new menu name and clicking create menu does nothing,

As other people have said, you have to switch themes and try that, that's the only thing it could be, if yu haven't made any other changes.

OK - so defo ALL plugins been deactivated to test??

I've deactivated everything but Elementor/Pro. I don't want to lose progress. I'll create a backup and save page templates first then try disabling.

Did you write a menu name first and then click create menu? That should work. As per the screenshot everything looks normal to me.

As others have said (and having tried to disable plugins and flush cache) and going off you image, theme you’re using doesn’t have any defined menu areas and changing theme (temporally) may have to be the way.

Changed theme, no change, will disable all plugins and activate one by one next.

Just disabled everything and changed theme even tried in new browser. Still issues. I've got pages saved as templates so I'll probs create fresh WP install and start over.

Do you want a hand over TeamViewer/AnyDesk? If so, send me a PM.

Thanks for the offer, everything is saved with templates so I think I'll do a fresh install as that won't take too long. It's a small local lead gen site so only a few pages luckily.

You could set WP_DEBUG to true in your wp-config.php.

Then there would be a possibility you could get an error message to find out what is wrong.

Sometimes this weird shit works: Change your PHP version.

Do you have any cache/"speed" plugins installed?

Yeah I suppose if he was running a new version of wordpress on an old version of php that could cause issues.

first of all try to uninstall theme second one is try with new wp
