Would you pay for an SEO course?

SEO changes rapidly. I would guess that by the time some school program updates you on the "new changes", it will indeed change again. Some of the best knowledge is gained through experience and experienced peers which you'll find on the forum and other places for free online. At $90 per mth, you could invest in the start of your own authority site or blog network to master your seo skills. jmo :o

I would pay for a good SEO course. But before that I will try to look for free information online first. There are a lot of good free resources on SEO. You can go and read the threads here in BHW for one. In fact, all SEO experts started by reading free stuff on SEO. :)

Speaking of free information, you may want to search for Affilorama's Free Lessons :) You may learn about SEO here for free.
 
It depends... Time is money. So are you going to spend a years bouncing around BHW trying to find out what you don't know to learn it, or take a structured course, maybe touch on things you didn't even know existed and when you're done, then go after learning more about what you're interested in...

I just spent several hundred dollars to take a week long class on a subject I wanted to learn but didn't have the time to spend months finding out what I didn't know. Now I know the basics and more importantly I can concentrate on the areas I need to know more about...

Money and time well spent, for me anyways... You just have to decide for yourself where the threshold between money and time are at.

Do note no body will ever teach you so good SEO, what you will learn from this Black Hat World forum. Even SEO gurus dont know much what you will learn over here.
 
If the course is taught by someone with a truly impressive portfolio of high ranking websites, then of course I'd be interested, and anyone here that's serious enough about moving forward with their IM career should be.
 
I would have paid for the SEO course, because learning from google or from BHW will take time, but if there is someone to guide you things become look easier and quick. Moreover you can eat off the teacher's head by asking numerous questions after reading them here in BHW. ;)
 
You can find a ton of SEO courses (even payed ones) for free online. There are better ways to spend $90 a month.
 
No, could not just put no so had to type this after my amazing comment. And why you may ask? Because people selling SEO courses are not selling SEO courses, what they are selling is "Give Me Money". Real SEO is self taught and something which you perfect on your own. You really think someone good enough to rank good keywords is going to sell their "secret", no neither do I, as there is far too much money to be made in ranking the right keywords, no need to make your job harder by trying to sell people the method of how to make big money.

SEO along with IM is a real-time learning environment.
 
You can learn many things from this forum as it is continuously updated and paying 90$ a month for and online SEO class is useless
 
OP, I had a look at the site, the courses look OK but it does seem expensive for what it offers.

All you are really paying for is the fact the information is in one place and at $99pm it seems a little excessive.

You could learn everything they teach with the many free courses available online.

For a basic introduction use the Udemy courses that are being shared here and ask any questions on BHW and you will be covered.

Save the $99pm and invest that money in building sites and learning as you go.

These course instructors make their money SELLING COURSES not by ranking in SERPs
 
Courses of any kind are tricky things. Most of them just narrow your understanding on the subject, so it would be a lot more beneficial to learn as you go.
 
I know of 2 people with huge reputation and experience in the industry who decided to take that route. They reduced working for clients/companies to the minimum and started training SEO teams, holding conferences, rolling out training programs etc. And they seem to enjoy being just consultants a way better.

Of course, you need to have built that reputation first. Clients need to look for you and not the other way around. As we've all seen these WF-like "gurus" and their magic SEO courses.
