Would this be a good idea for web hosting?

If you're with a host that allows you unlimited domain hosting, and you wanted to make a little extra money hosting strangers domains for a few bucks a year, would that be a good idea or bad one?

On almost all hosts this is against their TOS. So I suppose you could but you very well have the possibility of being shut down if your host suspects anything. I know on my servers I do not allow my users to "abuse" their account that way (if it is possible to prove anything). This is exactly why some hosts have "reseller" packages, perhaps this is what you are looking for.

Yeah this is definitely not a good idea, like Ampix0 mentioned most hosts have TOS that clearly outline that this is not acceptable. Plus if you are hosting others and you get shut down then you will have some angry people after you. However a reseller plans gives you the flexibility to do this, make money and do it without fear or being shut down. Sounds like a win win for you to look at reseller plans.
