Would pictures help SEO?

    Said I had a blog about skateboard videos or something. Would making posts on it with sort of photo albums help improve the SEO of the site over all.

    Not at all.. Google´s spiders can´t "read" pictures...
    I would add ALT and TITEL to your pictures to make them SEO-friendly.

    ALT describes your image to search engines
    TITLE is for visitors (titel will appear over the image)

    Yes say you did that does that help SEO in some way? Like if the person searches 'weight loss' do pictures with weight loss as alt text and what not help?

    If you make text posts of around 350 to 500 words and then add 3 or 5 pictures in along with relevant ALT text, then yes - the pictures will help.

    They definitely help seo.
    Just name the pics like this:
    relevant-keyword-long-phrase.jpg
    And alt tag:
    alt="Relevant keyword long phrase"
    At least if the user will click the pic will reduce bounce rate.

    I always name my pics a long tailed keyword and you would be surprised how much action you get from google images as well as a benefit in the text searches.

    My theory is that google ranks sites better if they have images. Dunno if it works...
