Would chrome block push notifications?

I read news about chrome update in a blog. It is mentioned that chrome is in a plan of blocking push notifications widget automatically under certain conditions in upcoming version 80 . If it happens, we know how bad it would affect advertisers and networks. What do you think about it?

Welp it still works both automatically and via user gesture in 81. I more concerned about penalties for push abusing, since google owns both chrome and fcm and can easily detect accounts or domains with high unsubscription rate.

Not much changed after the Chrome update. Push notification ads are still trending and on top. It's like with pop traffic - people talked about the end of pop ads like 5 years ago and some affiliates still make money running pop traffic. I think networks will just need to adapt to changes, that's all.

Push notifications will still work for several years, I think, like the popunder format
