Years ago, there was a dude here (Chialik or something like that) who ran a scam where he was 'investing' money from members, and swore he would pay back with interest (it was essentially a ponzi scheme, iirc)...I think word got out and it got published in a semi-major publication...a number of members here were able to track him down, if I remember correctly.
