Straight up question - Your local Hairdressers/Barbers, Plumber, Electrician wants a website. Using wordpress, how much would you charge them? Obviously you can make it look as decent as possible with relevant plugins, etc.

What would you charge for doin 'em a site?

Cheers

3-500 plus monthly reoccurring hosting.

Think of all the premium services you can upsell:
Social media marketing (fb/twitter etc..)
SEO
ORM

Charge for all of these, heavily.

I charge 750.00 USD when I build a WP site but that I only do it for a specific financial services industry.

10 pages, the usual plugins and some specialty stuff but nothing to wild.

Awesome stuff! Cheers guys. All i needed!:)

Seriously, how much time does it take to set this up? I'm no wordpress guru, but that seems a lot of money for a wordpress site.

Check my thread in the web dev section. A guy I know is paying $500 for a WP templated site, $750 for "blog integration" and $3200 for the Copywrite.

BTB Not tryng to steal a niche, just get some ideas. I just picked up my 1st SEO client, same guy who I mentioned on this thread getting his site redone. He is a financial advisor, do you mind me looking at some of the sites you did?

I'll ask some of those guys if they do not mind me sharing their sites with you. I'd be uncomfortable doing that without their OK.

No problem, just want to make sure for the money my client is paying for his redo that he is getting a good value. Also he hinted at offering my services to HIS reps, he is partners in a registered investment advisory as well as operating his own office. So if I can do well for him, he wants to white label website builds and SEO to me. But for that I need to A) rank him (which I think I can do) B) find a good site building teammate to outsource to, I dont do website builds.

That could be some nice side cash for you. I don't do website builds either but I am on this forum with Finance guys and somehow it came up that I was a nerdy geek with no life and offered some free advice to a couple of guys.

One thing led to another and I was asked to build sites for some of them... easiest 750.00 a pop that I could ever generate.

Make sure you borrow some interest rate calculators etc for your clients' sites as those make the site look cool to that crowd.

its all about the layout and the type of client.
i started offering websites from 50/mo with free templates and now i sell 4500 websites with premium templates plus 300/mo for seo plus ranking fees

Make sure you get a basic contract sorted and get 50% of the payment upfront to protect yourself...

You are only going to get flak from the small timers on this. There is a great argument to get past that too.

Have you done Seo for them too? Like "city name, 401 K" "city name, Financial Services" ?

If so I may have to pick your brain a bit, if you dont mind.

I think it's better to charge a low, monthly rate. So instead of a one-time fee of $700 I would charge like $50/month maybe. If I make 20 websites then that's $1000/month. You can justify the recurring fee as maintenance, security, hosting, and minor changes.

Wordpress basic install is 150, goes up rapidly from there. They pay for you to know what your doing. I also charge for hosting, they get backups, updates everything they need -- except seo services. I do onsite seo when they get the site, anything else is extra.
