World of Warcraft Method

This is total BS.

You just need to check what a lvl70/80 toon goes for. Levelling a toon to 80 is EXTREME time consuming and a lot of work..and if you are LUCKY you get $400-$800, for a HELL lot of work. This is like..pennies/hr. No thanks.

by the way..you ever played WoW? How the hell would you "bot" a toon up to 80? Its really hard work :)

A little bit of a heads up here..
Botting up to level 80 is doable, however odds are it'll take at least 2 months. I've both botted and hand leveled to 80.
Secondly the majority of windows bots are easily detected via warden, especially since mmoglider went down. Mac still has an awesome bot called PocketGnome, and Gonefishing.
Also, $15 a month + $20 for WoW + $20 for BC + $40 for WoTLK (Required to reach 80) = you're out at least $110.
Most wow websites don't buy for more than $100-$150 even with somewhat decent gear at level 80.
Even running the bot 24 hours a day (very suspicious I might add) , you'll need to be there for a good bit of it as well (repairing changing waypoints etc).

Selling on the above listed wow sites is a scam in itself. If you really want to sell level 80's you're going to have to reach for mid $xxx to make any kind of profit at all.. In this case I'd suggest maybe local CL ads or even flyers / ads put up locally.

With regards to the dual boxing / running all at the same time.. The way you described you'd require 5 computers. You can open 5 copies of wow on one computer (given the computers processor is good enough) and then use a program like Keyclone to send over all the keys. It's not really that hard to set up either, as I've done it especially with daily quests.

Hehe I just sold my old wow account for $650 per western union ;) I've Bern playing since beta lol

Umm MMOGlider still works. [EDIT: I just viewed their forums as I haven't actually loaded the bot recently, but now I'm thinking it doesn't actually work as everyone is active but their looking for alternatives to MMOGlider. My bad. Information below is still valid/accurate when it was working though.] Yes, they've been taken to court, but they still program/update their bot. I own a glider key, and while it is quite obvious of botting behavior if a GM is watching you can set it up to do different things upon a whisper, people within a certain radius of you, etc.

Oh and its not like you set it up and leave it alone. You pretty much have to find different patterns for the bot which are determined by the area/level you are in/at. For instance, if you are a level 10 blood elf you would probably run to the Barrens and find a bot pattern for level 10-14 to grind in and around the Barrens. Once you hit level 14 your bot will not know to stop. You gotta find another bot pattern for level 14-18 in a different area of the Barrens.

What sux is that some people will notice you're repetitive behavior and run in front of you tagging every creature your character is trying to kill. Then they will report you on top of being snakin a-holes. But like I said you can set the bot up to auto log off if a person is in 50 yard radius of you for a set amount of time.

On a separate note.. where did you sell your character to get so much? I've attempted to sell my rogue and I was getting low-balled like crazy. I have some pretty good gear (heroic 25 man nax stuff), and a good amount of rare mounts - mechano-hog, bronze proto-drake, etc. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

As an ex wow player. Here are my thoughts.

You need all 3 expansions to be able to hit level 80. Total Cost = $25+25+50 = $100 and then there is the subscription fee each month.

Glider was the ONLY good bot and the owners have been taken to court.

So easy to get banned and lose your investment.

Trial accounts aren't worth jack all and you can't do jack all on them.

People don't just buy it because it is level 80. It has to have good gear and things which requires Raiding which is quite hard and cannot be done with a bot.

My friend used to phish wow accounts. He would get around 50-100 accounts a week and sell them onto someone else for $10 account. Much more profitable and easier to do than leveling characters. Although it is theft.

This was my first thought when I saw this thread. Glider got involved in litigation with Blizzard and while their trial is still pending (I think so at least) they have to stop sales, updates and support for the program. All of the other bots get caught and reported waaaaayy to easily. Its not worth is considering that WoW even employs people to go around looking for characters doing bot like things and then report them.

yeah the bots generally got caught, my son is one of those turds who would report them as well.

lol, that's priceless, those damn kids! :)

Yeah, anyways, I read an article a while ago about how some german(?) dude was making hundreds of thousands of bucks with wow, but he was gold farming. I believe that's a more profitable method, lots of sites out there selling wow gold... you'd need different bots probably... and whoknows if any of them still deliver...

also: people from some poor countries were actually hired to farm gold, it's like a wow sweatshop (still, it's probably slightly less annoying than solving captchas), I don't know if that's still going on, anyways, you could outsource that and bam! money in the bank :)

this will not work, there are other ways to make money with bots on world of warcraft but I would rather not share them.

think outside the box etc. they pay people in 3rd world countries by the hour to play this game, if you figure something out, sit on it or it will get saturated and ruined, guaranteed. there is money in bots but no one is going to help you make it.

if you are going to do this, you need a high end gaming rig, multiple accounts and a decent bot(decent meaning the kind that costs money) that can multi client.

1k for a computer plus 10-15 accounts and a bot to start, then you have to pay for subscriptions for the wow accounts and replace banned accounts. this is NOT a cheap method, and you will not even recover your investment if you think you can just buy a bunch of stuff and plug it in and make money. you have to know the game and think of stuff and experiment and play around a lot to see any gain.

if you feel like spending 2.5k on an experiment then go for it. otherwise save your money.

Hmm, but don't demo accounts have a level cap? Plus, I don't think you'll get to 80 within the 7 days or whatever it is... that said, I'm afraid that re-installing WoW will get me hooked again, and that's the biggest cost of this method! :P

You'll find that most of the time, it's english / american hackers using stolen Paypal accounts.

Scale it up, I used to get 1-70 in 14 days, $100 a account easily, so if I was to create 10 accounts, bot 5/time, swap between the two sets of accounts, that's $1000/14 days, or $2000/a month just for leaving a pc running.

Nope it's mostly chinese scammers. Trust me. I had dealings with about 10 through markeedragon. You can always tell by their bad english and their nicknames on AIM/MSN. Also, some of the boards like wowtrade.dk have banned chinese ip addresses

Actually, you can power level a account in week.

I used to multibox 5 accounts at a time. In about 4-5 days, I could level them to 70 and sell for around $150. This was just a month ago too. It is possable but does take some time.

Also take note, you are going to need atleast a quad core and a video card that can handle 5 wow appications at a time. In the new expantion, most people have went to having 2 PCs atleast or one for each account.

Better method? Sure and more of an IM method too:

Sell CB wow guides and use this bot with trial accounts:
hxxp://www.wowbootybay.com/2009/06/03/wowhiper-bot-great-spam-bot/
to spam people and sell your guides.
