The idea to is to make many accounts, and bot on them. After they reach a high level, or level 80, sell them. Many WoW addicts will pay $$ for world of warcraft accounts.

    1. Create a World of Warcraft free trial account.

    2. Install the bot. http://www.mmowned.com/forums/bots-programs/ This site houses many guides and programs for botting on WoW.

    3. Read about how to bot safely. The key here is to not get banned. Bot slowly. If you are patient, you can make a lot of money.

    4. When your account is leveled up, it is the time to sell it. You can try craigslist, but there are other sites that sell your WoW account.
    warcraftloot.net
    buymmoaccounts.com
    accountbar.com
    accountsbay.com
    gamerzplanet.net

You can also search for some sites yourself.

    That's it.

It really only takes about an hour to set up the bot, and you're all done. You could check it every now and then... But that's it.

Haha I used to do this over 3 years ago...im tired of wow plus it was an addiction its self. Plus the chances of leveling all the way to 80 without even being caught (by another player or gm is sooo slim).

my son was hooked on WOW for a while...we had to do an intervention, lol

yeah the bots generally got caught, my son is one of those turds who would report them as well.

I would rather crate a character, but his name would be a tinyurl going to my cpa offer, lol

    Any startup costs?

Do you need to pay money for these bots to join the server or something?

This idea won't work because websites will only pay you around 100usd for a level 80 account with good gear. If you try to sell to other players you will most likely get scammed as the other person will use a stolen paypal to pay you (Chinese Scammers). Its hard to level these accounts and its even harder to sell them.

It would take you over a month to make a level 80 account which is why i don't think its worth spending time doing for 100usd since you have to pay £10/Month (20usd) to just play the game.

This idea is probably not new. But like the guy above said its probably not very profitable and you have to go through a great deal of trouble for a relatively small return.

    This wouldn't work.

There are restrictions on trial accounts. I can't remember all of them but there are tons.

    You can't trade with others.

You can't use the auction house.

You are limited to a certain level like 15 or 20.

    And the list goes on.

I suppose this could work if you bought the account and paid the monthly fee.

Last time i played on a trail account, you were limited to level 20 and could only have 10 gold. So you'd definitely have to pay for monthly subscriptions. Like others have said, it probably wouldn't be worth it, especially with the high chance of getting caught

If you can level a number of accounts to 80 you can make a decent amount of money selling gold. Gold prices are around $7-8 per 1000, so as you build up a bot farm you can really increase your profitability.

Selling accounts is much less profitable due to the relatively low account prices, and costs of the expansions. In the long run that same account should make you a lot more if you farm and sell gold.

Though, compared to what many people are making here, and the comparative amount of work involved, blackhat and internet marketing is much more profitable.

I used to be a Game Master for WoW a couple years ago down in Austin, and we would get plenty of bot reports. We'd forward them (after going in-game to observe their bot behavior) to an entire team dedicated to catching them.

At the time, some of the smart bots must have been running a script where when a GM msg'ed them they would automatically log out quickly, thus making us unable to view their bot behavior in-game. I don't know the current state of Blizzard's detection or GM policies, but if you do run a bot make sure it has that capability to log off when msg'ed by a GM.

    Not a very good method.
First of all, the World of Warcraft Trial version doesn't let you get past Level 20; and like everyone else is saying, the chances of making it to level 80 with bots is pretty slim because of the bot reports.

I think if you botted Runescape it would work MUCH better. There are PLENTY of buyers, not many sellers. Plus, many good bots are availible that go undetected, and players won't be a problem because many of them are young kids who have no idea. Programs such as RSbot would work really well with this.

However, most people only buy accounts that are above level 100, so this means a whole week of CPU usage. Even if you do accomplish to get this high leveled character using bots, it will only sell for about $80-$100. You are much better off using some other method.

Hell, if you really wanted to make money from selling accounts in Runescape it would be much more profitable to steal and "phish" their passwords then sell them on Craigslist. But seriously...you are going to break a lot of kid's hearts. Only a total jerk would do this :(.

As an ex wow player. Here are my thoughts.

You need all 3 expansions to be able to hit level 80. Total Cost = $25+25+50 = $100 and then there is the subscription fee each month.

Glider was the ONLY good bot and the owners have been taken to court.

So easy to get banned and lose your investment.

Trial accounts aren't worth jack all and you can't do jack all on them.

People don't just buy it because it is level 80. It has to have good gear and things which requires Raiding which is quite hard and cannot be done with a bot.

My friend used to phish wow accounts. He would get around 50-100 accounts a week and sell them onto someone else for $10 account. Much more profitable and easier to do than leveling characters. Although it is theft.

Selling accounts was worth a few years ago. Nowadays there are too many people selling them and the selling prices aren't worth the work.

I have to agree with the others. It wouldn't be worthwhile leveling accounts just to sell them. High upfront costs and low profits for time invested.

I guess you could setup and outsource an entire gold farming company, but even then you'd still probably make more just using a different method from these forums.
