I love Internet Marketing and writing content, but bills are bills. I recently got a job as a Greenskeeper at a golf course, it's 12 days on and then 2 days off, 8 hours every single day. I know, I know, you want to be your own boss yadda yadda, but I wanted to get outside damnit!

I soon realized (around 2-3 hours in) that my hands weren't built for landscaping, the dirt under my fingernails was uncomfortable and it was too damn cold by the time we had gotten into the groove of things. The only thing sitting in my mind right now is the fact that I have to repeat that process 11 more times before I get a break.

At least I'll have money, right? They also gave me my own personal cart to get around the course, that's pretty damn beautiful if you ask me.

Just figured I'd share my day!

Take care,

Like you said, bills are bills. Money is money. Kudos to you for getting a job and working hard. I read a lot of posts that complain about not making a few dollars when they can go out, get a job, and make $10 an hour at least.

With that said, good luck! The next 11 days will fly by.

And free greens fees?

Damn and I just let a PR1 Greenkeeper URL expire. Outdoors work is healthy for a while. Cant be too cold if its ok for golf ?

While I must say good job getting in a hard days work!!! I must also say, LOL YOU SISSY LALA!!! Does your sister call you Sally?

In all seriousness, one should not underestimate the value or a hard day's labor, and your hands will become more callous and tough over time. I spent nearly a decade in the construction industry and don't regret a day of it.

You are what you choose to be, if you feel like you need the job then you need a job, so well done for stepping forward.
As my coach used to say, if you think you are right, you are right and if you think you are wrong, you are right.
Perhaps your business ideas might flourish in the future, so make some money and save some for future ideas.

Damn dude that sucks, I did the opposite transition .... used to work hard and get dirty, now just computers.

I live next to a golf course and it seems to me the people who work there just aimlessly walk round the course all day, looks like a good job.

To be honest, it actually wasn't that tough, I'm just used to sitting at my computer typing all day. Like I said I got my own little cart, which is pretty badass, and I'm making $12/hr for days ($14/hr for night shifts where I turn on sprinklers and drive around).

@BassTrackerBoats I actually get a free membership, thought that was rather cool as well!

Fair play dude. You have the right attitude.

The amount of idiots that go broke chasing the IM dream is astounding. Do the bare minimum at your day job, and save your energy for IM.

Ha!

You should watch the American dad episode where Stan and Steve work on the green.

S1, E1.

I would do that kind of job anytime, it is great to work in the "nature". Great change for you, don;t give up, you can do IM in your "free" time.

Nothing beats working some hard labor and coming home to your parents smiling at you.. in my area most people sell drugs and drive Audi's lol.. I feel like I am missing out but I'd rather work a job and commit to IM than destroy people and families by getting them hooked on Drugs, spending 8 hours in warehouses shifting heavy crap can be depressing at times but you know your money is clean and truly earned, well done aluminium :D

I'd go crazy if I had a kart to drive around in.. I'd prob have the mario kart theme playing aswell xD

Well done
