Wordpress vs Wix?!

Definitely use Wordpress or something else but not Wix. Go for self-hosted solutions so that you can customize stuff and don't have to depend on the platform which rents out features to you and makes changes you cannot have decision on.
I have discussed this topic with people of various backgrounds and points against Wix are:
1. Rather slow speeds
2. Not clean code
3. Questionable SEO
4. You have to subscribe to a service, can't own anything if you buy from them (e.g. domain).
Alternatives: WordPress, Tilda, Joomla, Drupal, Vigbo.

I started with Wix, regretted as I began to get more advanced. Wix has a lot of restrictions and the plugin base is not as good as WP. I learnt how to use Wix and I thought it was great to start with, I got a site with a nice design up and running really quickly but then as I say when I got more advanced and required things like full-screen iframes etc there support said no to that. I believe you can not have a database and other features like that. I would start with WordPress and master that rather than learn Wix and be disappointed with the limits later down the line.

Most of the people using wordpress compare to wix and lots of plugins available, suppose if any queries or problems occurs, you can easily solved, so I suggest the wordpress.

I prefere wordpress, although wix has a nice set of designs and layouts, wordpress has been my long associate. why? because its so damn good xD

The main thing about Wordpress and Wix is the SEO, Wordress is good for SEO and Wix is great for designs. so, you can use these two according to your need.

Because on Wordpress there is an incredible variety of useful extensions including free ones and they are actively developing and multiplying. The development community at Wordpress is insanely large and active. Even if there are problems, then due to the scale of this community, technical solutions quickly appear.

I have not used Wix so i dont know about it. The one am using is WordPress for so many years . WordPress is working finely for me with design and for seo purpose also.
Wordpress all the way! Wordpress is virtually limitless, if it can be coded....it can be displayed on your website with no issues!
Wix has too many limitations and they nickle and dime every feature. Wordpress can be installed on any basic $4.99/mo web hosting where as the only good plan for WIX is at least $20/mo
Wordpress is also widely used and open source, so if you need to bring in a 3rd party web developer, they more than likely know wordpress. WIX is only good if you have no type of web design and development skills and just need a good looking site, but WIX sites always load slow to me

Also to add....a lot of celebs websites with membership protected pages and more from Bieber, the Kardashian/Jenners, Rihanna, Nelly Furtado, Demi Lovato, etc use wordpress. Not sure if their current sites are wordpress, but ive noted wordpress designs in the past. If nor wordpress, then thwir web developer pretty much makes a completely custom website with a wordpress-like backend to make ppsts/updates

WordPress would be the certain answer, let's look:
- As far as I remember, I've used Wix a lot long ago, but in that time they were something like a drag and drop builder with a monthly subscription. (You could simply use CK editor + some basic HTML skills)
- WordPress is a full-featured CMS which used by ~30% of the whole internet*, so It has a lot more community and a lot of plugins can be found for it.
- WordPress is easily extendable.
Even beginner programmers can simply extend it. (I've started creating plugins since the latest PHP version was 5.3 and WordPress was about 3.7 or 3.8) - WordPress has a wide variety of plugins (free and premium) to beat Wix in page building stuff. (just search for WordPress Page Builder or similar to see it yourself)
So in a quick look WordPress can contain a Wix inside
