WordPress vs Wix What would be more effective for SEO?

Currently, the top five rankings on the first page of SERP in the market I'm working on are websites made of Wix, and the rest are parasite seo. I'm building a homepage with WordPress and making a lot of investment and effort to enter the first page of that niche market, and I wonder if I should build a homepage with Wix like any other top site in this market. What do you think?

I don't think the platform on which a site is built gives it a strong edge over the other, unless the sites are hosted on the domain of the platform, which is not the case.

Wordpress gives you perhaps the best opportunity to optimize for SEO and almost anything, so I would recommend wordpress over Wix or any other.
 
it won't matter which platform you use, it's the SEO you put into it that does the trick...

Those sites that are built with Wix and ranking in top 5 are using their own domain, or they're using Wix subdomains? Because if it's subdomains then you've found a great niche for parasites, so you should take advantage of that by copying what those guys are doing and beat them with better links
 
I think Wordpress is better (if your site is on your hosting and not on a wordpress subdomain)
 
I am a WordPress expert, so I would definitely prefer it over Wix. However, both WordPress and Wix have their pros and cons when it comes to SEO, and the platform alone does not guarantee success, it is all about how you optimise your site.

In your case, switching to Wix might not be necessary. Instead, focus on analysing what the top ranking sites are doing well and apply those strategies to your WordPress site. Both platforms can rank effectively, but execution is the key!
 
Thank you for all your comments. I think I optimized the Wordpress homepage well, but I'll have to check again to see if it's still insufficient. Please recommend some posts on the wordpress on page SEO.
 
Honestly think people should look at recent Wix updates to the back-end, they're really pushing the SEO performance aspect

But, to answer the question - keep away from Wix if you can use WP

if you run your content through services like Frase.io or NeuronWriter (which can be expensive though) and follow their optimization tips you won't need other tutorials on this. But since you've asked, here's one that I've bookmarked a few years back when it was pretty good (it might still be good today, but I don't know):

It depends on your specific needs. If you plan to invest in SEO as a long-term strategy, WordPress might be the way. However, if you prefer a straightforward approach with less technical involvement, Wix could be more suitable.

I'd go with WordPress. As compared to Wix, WordPress has a lot of customization options which allow you to tailor your website to specific SEO needs.
Wix's URL structure can be less SEO friendly sometimes.

It's more likely that #1, these ranking websites are owned by the same person, or people replicating the ranking website(s) work blinding,
And #2, they have more authority than you do, very commonly the case of people thinking they can rank simply by "optimizing their websites"

WordPress is generally more effective for SEO due to its flexibility, vast range of plugins, and control over optimization. Wix has improved, but WordPress offers more customization options, better scalability, and advanced SEO features, making it a top choice for long-term SEO success.

Nothing gives you an edge. But also if you create free websites with wix, the last time I remember, you can only use the domain with their ending at it. This seriously affects seo, negatively. But if you can use your own domain names I think that everything is fine.
