Wordpress vs Joomla

Wordpress is easier to begin with than Joomla and does what it have to do. Also for Wp there are a lot more themes and plugins available.
I would say, try both of them and use the one you like best.

Never joomla! Wordpress for smaller sites, Drupal for bigger ones.

My vote also for worpdress - lot of plugins, templates, biggest community, lightweight

As a developer I'll take wordpress the majority of the time. High quality and useful plugins in droves that also give me, the dev, a lot of power to build cool features. I've had good experiences interacting with the communities as well.

Other times I'll take Expression Engine where relational work is a bit easier for me to do (social media esk sites, etc) but I still get a solid system with much less work. EE community sucks though. I had to actually convince the devs a bug in core was a bug... by patching it myself <.<

Anything that I require more power, flexibility, and scalability, I'll go straight to frameworks such as laravel and charge accordingly because it's a lot more work.

But yeah, wordpress is kick ass and I can make it do some pretty fantastic things while preserving and improving the site owner's experience.
I have no reason to give drupal or joomla the time of day without being asked to.

My only complaint with wordpress is they don't teach site owners not to click the damn upgrade button. Seriously.. test before you update or you risk losing stuff.

I would also say WordPress ... Joomla doesn't offer any advantage basically.

If you dont want to get hacked, chose wordpress.
Oke oke it sounds stupid at first, because wordpress get hacked too, but much less than joomla.
Joomla is like a cheese, if we are talking about security holes.

Even my website was designed on Joomla platform, but I prefer Wordpress. It' easier to setup, manage with many available functions.
Wordpress is friendlier to users in general. I vote for Wordpress.

as a developer don't take anything from them, if i need to chose one of them i would chose wordpress.

Joomla has a similar setup to WP, a little more complicated- more back end customization settings etc, can be intimidating for newbies. Joomla sites I think look better however WP is more user friendly.

I've worked extensively on WP sites, and also used Joomla websites. I'm a big fan of wordpress and would recommend it to you starting off.

I'm pretty much familier with wordpress, it work's well to small & medium size business website and blog's, whereas Joomla require's a level of some technical coding skill's and it is much better for E-commerce type of site.

Yeah! I agree with you Davidnrog. It is much more easy to familiarize yet with stunning results even for beginners.

I recommend WordPress. It is easy to manage and there are available builders and plugins that makes your site building for your business much easier to a more complicated process in Joomla. Also in WordPress, sky is the limit! The more you learn, the more you can see that almost anything you can do with it.

Wordpress and Drupal have easier learning curve compared to Joomla.

I will prefer to use Wordpress as compare to Joomla because its attractive themes and easy to use setting. A child of 12 year can easily use wordpress and create blog without any major problem. Its user friendly plateform that i ever used

I would have to state that wordpress would be a better option although both have a lot of features and abilities, wordpress has a lot more themes and plugins available to use.
