    Contact your new domain hosting provider they do it for free. If you have hosing in same hoster they do it real fast. If they are not supporting you in transfer, backup all your website using filezilla. And database backup can be dome via PHPmyadmin in Cpanel.
    Have a look here for more information http://www.siteground.com/tutorials/cpanel/backup.htm

    I think you will get a new plugin via wp where it will help you in restoring the data to new location.

    Try to install Duplicator plugin in Wordpress and make a copy of your current Wordpress installation. TRansfer the copy to your new domain, adjust database settings according to the ones on your old domain and install it. Tweak your wordpress settings and you're done.

    Yes take backup on your computer then upload it on your new domain. Don't forget to backup and upload database without that your site won't work. If you are using hostgator go to backup option there - select your database folder and download it. Go to your new domain in Cpanel- backup- you can find browse upload the same database file there.
    Once you uploaded it try to access your new domain it will ask you to locate/name your database name give the same database name you restored. Thats it. Your site is up now.

    If you change the domain name, you need to replace it in the database, it's not very simple. Better use backup buddy as jeanlance said. It works great.

    old site - A
    new site - B

    Step 1 : download the wp_content folder (site A) to your computer using an FTP client (I like to use WinSCP)
    Step 2: download the database (site A) to your computer. to access the database, go to the host control panel, then PHP my Admin, then click the wordpress database name, and then click "EXPORT".
    Step 3: install a fresh WordPress on site B.
    Step 4: upload the wp_content folder from site A, and transfer to site B (replace all the contents)
    step 5: log in to the wordpress admin in site B, activate the new theme, and activate all the plugins you had originally
    step 6: upload the database from site A over to site B. To do so, go to the new host control panel, click PhpMyAdmin, then click the wordpress database, then IMPORT
    step 7: click this link: http://interconnectit.com/products/search-and-replace-for-wordpress-databases/ and download the file "search and replace DB V2.1.0"
    step 8: upload that file to your new host (in the public html folder). go to www.mywebsite.com/searchandreplacedb21.php
    step 9: search and replace any instance with your new website. for example, search for www.siteA.com and make sure it is replaced by www.siteB.com
    step 10: once the tool is complete, test the website to make sure everything works good
    step 11: delete the searchandreplacedb21 file once youre finished

    Just use "Backup Buddy". It's a WP plugin and does everything for you when it comes to moving a site from one server to another and even to a new domain. It's very simple to use and the whole process is point and click. It takes about 5 minutes from backing up the site and then installing it to the new host (and even on to a new domain if you want). It takes care of everything.

    There is a version floating about on here somewhere and here is a link to the instruction videos.
    Code:
    [URL]http://ithemes.com/tutorials/backupbuddy-settings/[/URL]

    This is what I do:

    Assume you use cpanel:

    1. backup the entire mysql file dump using phpmyadmin.
    2. backup the entire directory via file manager by compressing in a .tar.gz file.
    3. download those #1 and #2 to your desktop hard drive
    4. create your new hosting account
    5. upload your compressed .tar.gz and extract exactly to your hosting directory using your file manager
    6. create a new database and username and password
    7. use phpmyadmin to import your backed up mysql dump file
    7. edit your wp-config.php to match your new database and username and password
    8. edit your wp-config.php to match your new domain name by adding:

    define('WP_HOME','httpnewdomain');
    define('WP_SITEURL','httpnewdomain');

    to the correct part of the file.

    9. Login to your httpnewdomain_com/wp-admin
    10. Install the plugin httpwordpress_org/plugins/search-and-replace/
    11. Search for all instances of your httpolddomain_com and replace with newdomain_com

    If you make a mistake in search and replace, all you need to do is drop the tables in your new database and import your backup again.

    I have done this many times.

    And for the redirects: search for a .htaccess rewrite or create a index.php file in the old public.html with these contents
    <?php
    header("HTTP/1.1 301 Moved Permanently");
    header("Location: http://www.yournewsite.com" . $_SERVER['REQUEST_URI']);
    ?>

    And ofcourse replace the newsite.com with your new site.
    Good luck with it.

    Thank you all of you guys for helping me out..

    I have already done all the things related to website and its live now.

    I used .htaccess to redirect OLDdomain.com to Newdomain.com and its working.

    Now just one query is bothering me.

    Shall i tell Google to remove the OLDdomain using webmaster tool? or is it fine not to do it?

    I am doing this because the OLD site was having penguin penalty and my OLDdomain was EMD also. Please let me know whether to do it or not.
