WordPress site faster loading tips?

Use perfmatters or wp rocket for wordpress they any of them will do the job. Else hire developer for speed optimization. Or you can use chatgpt one by one about the solution for your question e.g. how to delay javascript etc. It will take some time but will work.

At the hosting side of things both the provider you buy from and the type of hosting product you buy matter.
Generally:
dedicated server > VPS > paid shared hosting >>> free hosting
Of course the further up you move the more skills and time you need to set it up.
Other than the server itself, which is something you can just throw money at to improve performance if you can afford it, you need to find where the bottleneck is.
As others have mentioned, depending on where the problem is (the theme,a plugin, images or other content, etc) the solution will differ.

In my experience, if you use WP you will never be satisfied 
Don't care too much about speed. Focus on your content.
I often use wp rocket or wp fastest cache, that's enough. If you want to score green on Google speed page, your theme must be very light and have very good hosting. You can use a 3rd party service like RabbitLoader, which can make that green speed score

If your site finishes loading in about 3-4 seconds, then don't worry too much. I can share RabbitLoader premium with you, pm me. I also want to test it, the last time I tried it I was satisfied.
