So then what would you choose instead?

For blogging, those are the two main options. I suppose you could still use something really old like Xanga or one slightly unconventional like Tumblr (which is very popular, but usually for picture sharing instead of real blogs).

Or are you thinking more like building a separate site using Joomla, etc, and then a plugin that would allow you to sorta blog there conveniently?

I think Wordpress is more powerful than Blogger.
What I feel is Wordpress streamlines a lot of complex marketing strategies and also lot of support is available to it.
 
Wordpress without any doubt, you can customize a lot more than blogger, and you can make better seo!
 
Have you consider hosting blog on your own server/hosting? That way you are in full control of that site comparing to free hosting versions.
 
Hi OP,

Wordpress is much better as compared to Blogger due to various functions. Both are easy to use but wordpress is a way advanced system which enables plugins to aid websites for better usage.

What are you looking out for?
 
Wordpress looks better and has more flexibility but me personally I seem to see Blogger in the SERPS many many times recently. Blogger blogs are hosted by Google and we all know how Google loves to favor their own products.
 
According to me wordpress is more powerful than blogger, as wordpress has more SEO plugin than blogger.
 
If you go with a Blogger Blog, One thing I would recommend to you is to get your own domain and forward it to the Blogger Blog. I have had very good success with this method. Best of luck.
 
fredwyatt7777 gives a good recommendation but still you can check most wordpress blogs rank high in search engines.

I vote for Wordpress on your own hosting for sure. This is my winner without doubt.
 
Why not both? Just kidding, Wordpress for me - more customisation - more themes - and fcuk google
 
Wordpress for sure. It has a lots of options to look for like lots of plugins,themes and stuff. Blogger has limited stuff and they can be recognized so easily and dont really appear that unique like WP. GO for Wordpress its the best option
