Hi guys, one of my websites has a blog that uses wordpress. Has maybe about 10 articles nothing crazy resource hogging, and yet it always takes 3-5 seconds to load a page. But yet all the other pages on the same site that are not wordpress load instantly. Any ideas on what could be causing this, I was thinking it may be the plugins but the only extras I have installed are jetpack, All In One WP Security, Category pagination fix, UpdraftPlus - Backup/Restore, W3 Total Cache, WooTumblog, WordPress SEO, WP-Optimize

Any advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

no anyone cannot tell the reason until they review your site.the following are my advises.just google the belowuse speed booster pack pluginuse google page speed tool to find the reasonuse wp super cache pluginask your hosting to turn on gzip

- use default theme to check if it's caused by the theme you use
- you can give a try the plugin called P3 (Plugin Performance Profiler) to see which plugins are slowing down your website
- disable all plugins and enable one by one & check to find out which one is slowing down your website

probably the size of your images is slowing it down. If you have videos, even worse.

probably its bugs, try delete your plugins and reinstall, if you have plugins removed before, install it and then delete

It may be due to heavy theme or no. of plug-ins you have installed. Try with basic theme and low plug-ins to check whether it is the main issue or it could be due to hosting.

i have one doubt how to change background images to use wordpress its give good quality process. . . .

Did you check you CSS and website internal files.

And then, you may ask to hosting support. I think you got some hosting problem only.

Only 3-5 posts on the whole blog so far and very few images

It could be up to hosting . Which host you use ?

Here you go:

This will help you diagnose the slowness.

Thanks

If your Wordpress site is loading slow, these may be the probable things:

1. Heavy Page (Full of big Size images, content)
2. Database is loaded with uncountable images
3. Hosting Plan You Have
4. Inappropriate Plugins
5. Inappropriate Theme

Thanks

HostGator
Thanks
Yup, Hostgator sucks for wordpress lol, I'm sure Incapsula will help you improving the load time, check them out. Also see if any of your plugins is using too much resourses :)

Oh! by the way, you can also try optimizing your imagges for web (lowering their quality)

Oh really? Oh wow thats interesting, cause hostgator has been really good overall speaking for pretty much everything else on the site. But thanks will def look into that

oh and forgot to mention I also have cloudflare already

Run P3 to see if any of the plugins are slowing you down. Try wp smush.it and EWWW Image Optimizer to compress images more.

I had an issue running a G fonts plugin that was causing my pages to take over 10 seconds to load.
