Most of Us know that in Wordpress, the default category slug is "category"
So by default my category URL looks like

    Code:
    internetmarketing212.com/category/internet-marketing-blog/
So I used permalink structure as
    /%category%/%postname%/
along with /. as a category base.

    Now my URL's look like
    Code:
    internetmarketing212.com/internet-marketing-blog/
    Questions / Concerns

    1. I see that in the Source code, the URL actually looks like following
    Code:
    internetmarketing212.com/./internet-marketing-blog/
    Notice the extra dot.

-- Will it cause any SEO related problems
-- Will it cause any performance related problems
    2. I did find more advice on following links. Just want to be sure before I make further changes
    Code:
    bloggerholic.com/wordpress/how-to-remove-category-base-from-permalinks-45.htm
    wprecipes.com/how-to-remove-category-from-your-wordpress-url

    Hi madoctopus,
I already evaluated this option & was worried about the compatibility matrix of this plugin.
After Your suggestion, I just tried it & it works like a charm.
Thanks a lot for Your speedy reply.
    Good Time!

No you do not need any plugin for that... I can not really figure out what's the problem here... but I am sure that you are missing something somewhere

This is waht the initial question is about.
    W/O a pluging, Either I need to
    1. Edit .htaccess OR
    2. Edit Wordpress files OR
    3. ??? I don't know :)

    Cheers!

Well... I am sure you know that it usually works without even playing around with htaccess and things of those sort... Sorry Pal I can not see what's wrong here... You will have to wait till somebody smarter than me reads this thread.
