Jack of all trades, master of... well... several,

I've built probably 100 WP sites (but only a handful with woocommerce), made even more standalone and although I do miss obvious things many times this has been a problem for the past two days now and I've researched all I can so I'm down to f'n asking here, lol.

I don't have time to try all the shortcodes but it looks like none of them are working, the one I really need is 'featured products', but I'd settle for any that show any item on a page, within the page.

I need the home page to be a standard static blog site but would like a row or two of products below the main menu above the fold.. I don't believe the theme supports featured products, which brings me to this:

I should mention that I'm using a sh*t-ass free woo theme (Artificer) which is my usual rule when making a site that I actually care about and am running long with. Not only do I not want to pay for updates, the biggest deal is that I want a solid developer that will still be around years from now and updates regularly so I don't have to worry about crap like a theme in a few years. I'm good enough with the code usually to modify anything I need graphically in a child theme etc.

I have checked that the products are marked featured, have featured photos, are not set to hidden, are not in 'pre' tags, and I have checked all manner of rows/columns. I also tried two or three plugins meant to do the same thing and they aren't working either. Featured product or item area does not show at all, it's not just missing pictures, I don't think.

I really don't want to have to go into the php for this, but if you guys think that will work I'll try it. Maybe I'm an idiot for not just doing that, but I'm trying to keep the mods at a minimum on this project.

I also don't want to have to change themes but it looks like I may have to. I'm on a bit of a schedule and customizing another theme will set me back a couple days probably.

I do have quite a few plugins going, but I have good experience with using the bare minimum and lightest plugins available to my knowledge so there's not a crapton of bloat really, but yeah there's a good bit going on. I have tried disabling various ones to see if there was a conflict, etc.

    Any help at all appreciated.

Whenever I have had problems with shortcodes it has nearly always been theme related issues.

Sorry I can't help more but I'm no expert, generally it's just trial and error with me but try a couple of different themes anyway to see if it solves the problem.
